The Jar Family Announce New Tour Dates for 2013
Fresh off the back of this summer’s acclaimed second album, ‘Jarmalade’ (which arrived in August) and a recent Bonfire Night appearance in front of 11,000 people in their hometown of Hartlepool, The Jar Family return to the road in November/ December for a short run of highly anticipated live dates.
These shows, which include a free, acoustic set after the band help switch on the Xmas lights in Hartlepool on December 5th, see them returning to their hometown again on December 21st for a 1000 capacity Xmas show , their last live performance of the year.
The Jar Family were originally five individual songwriters, who decided that, rather than struggle for success in isolation, they would join forces in 2010 to pool their talent. Although on paper the idea of five very different and charismatic personalities with a wide range of musical styles working together harmoniously seems unlikely, the stunning results of their work to date speak for themselves. Taking their name from the donations jar they passed around at early gigs, the band are a tight knit group who had the foresight to realise that they were stronger collectively than they were individually.
A relentless touring schedule, which has seen the band appearing as special guests to a number of established artists such as Jake Bug, Alabama 3, Babyshambles, The Charlatans and others, has brought their raucous and engaging live show to all corners of the country. Picking up an ever-growing army of admirers as a result of this constant touring the band has now established a major fan base of fanatical supporters throughout the UK.
