Jubilee Courts release Début Single Room With A View

Northampton five piece Jubilee Courts' brooding post apocalyptic sound is very much inspired and informed by their environment. Growing up in London’s hinterland, the over-spill towns abandoned by the ruling elite its little wonder five wayward souls sought escapism and found sanctuary in music.

Initially after bonding over shared musical tastes, and after studying the gospels according to Ian Curtis, Mark E.Smith and Public Image Ltd,  the formation of Jubilee Courts was inevitable. Bassist Harry says "Once we'd started writing together in late-2011 University just wasn't on the cards for any of us." Drawing on such influences as the sombre elegiac lyricism of Joy Division, the sonic nihilism of The Jesus and Mary Chain and the anthemic soaring melodies of  Foals, Jubilee Courts are already starting to make a name for themselves beyond the confines of their home town.

Their début single 'Room With A View' was inspired by the gritty reality of modern life when bandmates Josh and Matt were locked out of the their flat in the aftermath of a fatal stabbing in the block. "there had been some strange goings on for a while" explains Jubilee Courts frontman Josh "but this brought home how close we were to the shocking reality …"  .we always wanted our sound to be a true reflection of our thoughts and environment both musically and lyrically. If someone can relate or be inspired or use it as an escape, that’s pretty cool."

Hypnotic B-side 'Strip Down' explores the realities of earning a wage in the creative strait-jacket of soulless employment, juxtaposed with the fulfilment derived from writing and performing as a band.

Jubilee Courts are at the vanguard of the diverse new wave of artists emerging from their home town which includes a of  likes of Temples, Maps and Strangers.

'Room With A View' will be released digitally on 16th December 2013 via Amazon,
iTunes and Spotify with a limited edition of CD's being available via the bands website.
