Frank Turner releases video for new track Sweet Albion Blues
Fresh from his Celebrity Mastermind triumph, Frank Turner has announced details of a new EP, ‘Polaroid Picture’, out on February 3rd through Xtra Mile Recordings. The EP will be available on CD and download and features five tracks; Polaroid Picture, The Modern Leper, Plea From A Cat Named Virtute (live), Who’s Got A Match and a brand new track Sweet Albion Blues.
February also sees Turner embark on his biggest headline tour to date, including his first ever headline date at London’s O2 Arena and a special hometown solo show at Winchester Guildhall on 14th February.
Turner rounded off a busy and hugely successful 2013 by playing a show with Billy Bragg in aid of Shelter. As well as the intimate gig at Wiltons in London in December, the pair took to the streets for a busking session for the charity. He also packed in a title-winning performance on Celebrity Mastermind, answering questions on his chosen specialist subject of Iron Maiden. The episode was screened on BBC One on January 3rd.
‘Tape Deck Heart’ reached number one on the iTunes chart, number two on the Official Chart and also entered the Top Ten on the US iTunes Chart in its week of release, underlining Frank Turner’s arrival as a crossover DIY star. ‘Tape Deck Heart’ is his most expertly crafted yet, an album pockmarked with years of relentless touring and prolific writing, where Turner sounds at his most accomplished without sandpapering down his raw edge, spinning narrative tales through rousing, adrenaline-veined anthems.
Like the rest of the record, ‘Polaroid Picture’ was produced by Muse and Weezer collaborator Rich Costey.
