Brooklyn urban/pop newcomer Corey Jon is set to release his debut EP 'Crazy Loud' this spring, coinciding with his first ever UK live show at London's Queen of Hoxton on April 7th.

Performing since he was a child, Corey Jon's creative passions have seen him delve into every artistic foray, including a role in the Tony award-winning Broadway musical '
Fela!' It was here he got to work with the likes of Jay Z and Will and Jada Smith, which gave Corey the inspiration to start making his own music.

Fela changed the trajectory of my life,’ says Corey. ‘Fela’s music allowed me to have a new perspective of social political commentary. And performing for people like Madonna, Prince, Janet Jackson, Sting, President Obama and Oprah, I was able to meet and talk to everyone I admired in the entertainment industry. Being in the company of great artists helped confirm my own plan.’

'Crazy Loud', his debut EP is a confident mix of RandB and pop, encompassing the vocals of The Weeknd with an anthemic backing that recalls the likes of Lenny Kravitz. Flying straight into the opening title track, Corey flaunts powerfully sung lines over the high-tempo electro style beginnings of 'Crazy Loud,' one of his most personal songs on the EP, ‘It’s like ripping a page out of my journal, listening to that song is like therapy for me’ says Corey.

With 'Got To Have You', echoes of Usher are shining through as the New York artist swoons over a modernised rework of 80’s inspired keys. 'Crazy Glue' and 'Long Stroke' delve into more epic territory with a domineering backdrop of guitars, pianos and rolling drumwork, but it’s the smooth RandB of 'Matters’ where Corey really finds his stride and shows his most romantic, heartfelt side, floating an infectious hook of sultry vocals over hazed strings.

Corey is already working on his debut album, due out early next year. Alongside this he has plans for his own clothing line, and is still reading various scripts for films and more Broadway, plus he’s already been cast in Tommy Mottola’s upcoming ‘SuperFly,’ show. Stay tuned for more details.

Corey Jon ‘Crazy Loud’ is out April 7. He plays Queen of Hoxton on April 7.
