Model Aeroplanes announce new single and Radio 1 Big Weekend appearance
The rising Scottish four-piece Model Aeroplanes have announced the release of their new single 'Electricity' on May 26th 2014, as well as a performance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow this May.
With an ear for infectious hooks and perfect melodies, Scotland's Model Aeroplanes have been a long time in the making. After going through several incarnations since the age of 13, the band’s tight and intricately-written songs have spent years maturing.
After their debut single 'Crazy' received over 10,000 plays on Soundcloud in just a fortnight thanks to heavy support from BBC Radio 1 and XFM, the band have been catapulted into the limelight as not just the UK’s next band to watch, but a band headed for worldwide notoriety. While still at a tender age, 2013 has already seen Model Aeroplanes share stages with the Editors, The View and Dry The River, and perform on the BBC Introducing stage at T in The Park.
Now Model Aeroplanes have their eyes set on 2014 with the release of new single 'Electricity'. A perfectly honed and arena-ready track, based around a glorious bass-line and heavily affected guitars. 'Electricity' carries an innate energy that marks the new single as one of the stand-out tracks of the summer.
‘Electricity’ will be released on May 26th 2014 through First Run Records. Model Aeroplanes will also perform at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Glasgow this May and are confirmed for this year’s Wickerman Festival.
