Luke Sital-Singh to release debut album plus UK September tour
With his long-awaited debut album ‘The Fire Inside’ now confirmed for a August 18th release on Parlophone, the hotly-tipped singer-songwriter Luke Sital-Singh can also announce details of a nationwide tour which includes his largest London headline show to date at the Scala. Pre-orders for ‘The Fire Inside’ are now open at iTunes / Amazon, as well as a special bundle in which fans can buy the album together with a ticket for the tour.
Recently seen at the first 6 Music Festival on a bill headlined by Damon Albarn as well as at Communion’s New Faces tour, Sital-Singh’s recent show at Oslo earned a glowing review from the The Times who stated: “A show-closing segment during which he was backed by a ten-strong contemporary choir was magnificent… Even in a tiny venue, you could imagine a field of festivalgoers taking the choir’s place.” Luke’s new tour dates are:
September
8th – Norwich, Arts Centre
9th – Brighton, The Haunt 15th – Bristol, Colston 2
10th – London, Scala 17th – Liverpool, Kazimier
11th – Oxford, O2 Academy 2 18th – Edinburgh, Pleasance Theatre
13th – Manchester, Gorilla 19th – Nottingham, Bodega
Tickets are priced at £12.50 for London and £8/£9 for the regional shows. Tickets will be available from Wednesday 11th June (pre-sale) and will go on general sale Friday 13th June. Tickets available from lukesitalsingh.com
Produced by Iain Archer (Jake Bugg) ‘The Fire Inside’ is an album of extraordinary power and brutal candour, its songs riding a rollercoaster of emotions: the hard-won optimism and rousing, never-say-die chorus of ‘Nothing Stays the Same’; the almost unbearable heartache and fragility of ‘Fail For You’; the strummed, confessional intimacy of ‘Cornerstone’ – as well as dramatic contrasts between bare-bones finger-picked guitar and propulsive, massed-harmony euphoria.
Earning comparisons to singer-songwriter greats such as Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver and Neil Young, Luke Sital-Singh has been tipped for greatness with inclusions in the BBC Sound of 2014 poll, iTunes’ New Artists for 2014, the Spotify Spotlight for 2014, XFM’s Great X-pectations, Amazon’s Emerging Artists for 2014 and HMV’s Tips for 2014.
