Leeds based 4-piece Fold release single Human Again in aid of Gaza
Leeds based instrumental hip-hop / trip-hop 4-piece Fold have released their new track Human Again at short notice in order to address the immediate humanitarian crisis in Gaza. All money from purchases of the song is being given directly to organisations providing medical aid to wounded civilians in Gaza. The single can be purchased via Fold's bandcamp site and is available on a 'name your price' basis.
Fold have chosen the Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA) and Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) as primary beneficiaries. In an accompanying statement the band wrote the following: "We do not align ourselves with political entities – we align ourselves with human beings."
Fold's previous single Be Water My Friend was made record of the week by XFM's Dave Rowntree (drummer of Blur) and was given generous airplay by Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Music along with Don Letts and numerous regional radio stations across the UK. The band headlined the East Leeds FM stage at Beacons Festival in Yorkshire on August 8 and were recently featured in NME's Radar section. They're steadily cultivating a significant underground following in and around Leeds.
