Liverpool songstress Jennifer Davies Reveals Silhouette Video
Liverpool art-pop songstress Jennifer Davies has revealed the striking and beautiful video for ‘Silhouette’. The video premiered at Stereoboard who said, “Pop music always benefits from a sense of theatre and that’s just what Silhouette, the latest track from alt-pop newcomer Jennifer Davies, delivers. Along with a suitably massive synth hook, of course.”
A gigantic pop anthem-in-the-making that builds from its rich 80s influenced lo-fi electronica and gloriously inspired vocals, ‘Silhouette’ – written and produced by Jennifer Davies and Tord Kundsen – leaves a lasting shadow that shapes the movements of Britain’s soon-to-be newest alternative pop sensation.
Davies’ vision is both inspired and contemporary, born of a lineage that stretches from the pop perfection of Madonna to the ethereal beauty of Bat For Lashes. Her music has the disco, drama and imperious ice of Roisín Murphy and Alison Goldfrapp, while the Scandinavian influences of Röyksopp, The Knife and Robyn are merged with the radio-friendly attraction of Chvrches.
A passionate creative who is entangled in a myriad of artistic endeavours, Davies’ gorgeous songwriting and visual aesthetics – styled by fashion designer Nabil Nayal – are developed even further in the ‘Silhouette’ video, leading to a ghostly display of contemporary dance, directed by French choreographer Johnny Autin.
‘Silhouette’ follows the release of videos for ‘Lapse Of Time’ and ‘Choke’, all taken from the recently released Lapse Of Time EP through Davies’ own label STUDIIO/Universal. You can hear all the songs from the EP here:
The final video from the EP, ‘Disconnected’, will be revealed in January ahead of some huge plans for 2015, as Jennifer Davies continues to reveal her captivating creative flair and breath-taking arsenal of sparkling pop music.
Jennifer Davies plays live in Liverpool at the über-cool Club Evol on December 19th
