MusicMafia presents Soul/Blues Singer Songwriter Eddy Smith
Having his debut single “Temptation” released and awarded single of the week by UK Undiscovered Radio, and then having his band invited to BBC Studios in Brighton to play the BBC Introducing Live sessions, it’s safe to say that 2014 was a mad year for the Eddy Smith Band. As a multi-instrumentalist Eddy writes, arranges and produces his music along with his hugely talented band.
Contradictory to the “laid back” feel of his debut album Easy Times, released in October 2013, Temptation is a groovy blend of Pop, Blues and Soul. He lists his influences as artists such as John Mayer, Amos Lee, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles to name just a few. The song was picked up by radio DJ’s all over the UK, Including Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands.
In 2012 his talents were recognised by the judges of ‘The MBF Awards Song writing Competition’ who saw Eddy reach the finals that had entrants from every university in the UK. Since this landmark event in Eddy’s career, he has gone on to perform at several prestigious venues around London and the Southeast, including The Hideaway Jazz Club, The Bedford, The Islington o2 Academy and played a live radio session on BBC Introducing.
He was also invited as a support act for “Yellowire” on their London tour.
With the release of Temptation, Eddy is looking forward to the forthcoming years, striving to be the musician he’s always wanted to be, doing what he loves, and loving what he does!
