The Barr Brothers are pleased to share their new single “Come In the Water”, lifted from their new album Sleeping Operator (out via Secret City Records on 6th October 2014).

Vocalist Brad Barr: “The event that inspired this song was the 1997 killing of 7 young girls in the park on the Island of Peace, on the Jordan river, along the border between Israel and Jordan. It was designated a peaceful place, where Israeli and Jordanian kids could play together without fear. One day a Jordanian soldier open fired on a group of Israeli girls, aged 13 and 14, killing 7 of them. Israel was created in a moment of compassion, national interest, and delusion. ‘On the day that you were born, legions laid down their arms/On the day you lost control, legions leapt for your throat’.”
The Barr Brothers’ concert at Bush Hall on January 28 in London has been sold-out for more than three weeks now and the band just announced a tour with legendary band Calexico, stopping by the UK again in April/May. See tour dates below.
Make sure to catch The Barr Brothers live in session on BBC Radio 2 with Dermot O’Leary and Bob Harris, on XFM with John Kennedy and on BBC London 94.9 with Robert Elms in the coming weeks.
