London based singer-songwriter Azu releases free download of single HANDS

Fresh off supporting Gabrielle's UK tour, London based singer-songwriter Azu is set to release his debut soul-driven and lyrical single ‘Hands’ as a free download on his Facebook page for a limited time only  http://on.fb.me/1iRIC6T

The single ‘Hands’ is taken from Azu’s debut EP ‘The Fall’, which is set for digital release on June 2nd 2014 and you can listen to the track below.

Azu, who was born in West Africa, moved to the UK in his early teens. Absorbing both cultures, he reflects this in his music that combines classic pop and soul with hints of his African origins. His distinctive sound has already received radio support from Gary Crowley on BBC Introducing and Simon Lederman on BBC London.

Azu, who has also supported Matt Cardle and Lemar on tour, takes inspiration from artists such as Seal, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday, Corinne Bailey Rae and Michael Kiwanuka.

New Norwegian Pop duo Hands release debut single on Tellé Records

HANDS are Hakon and Sofie and hail from Bergen, the same town that gave us Annie and Royksopp. HANDS have just completed their first single WakeUp which will be released through Elsker, an imprint of Tellé Records (Annie & Royksopp) on April 16th. HANDS have now finished recording a portion of their debut album with Pete Hofmann who has worked on releases by Will Young, Richard X, Kylie and Katy B.

Hakon and Sofie are deeply influenced by both by underground pop like Grimes and The XX and neon dance anthems by Robyn and Rihanna. HANDS merge the two sounds together. Sofie says "in Norway, we danced to Royksopp, Casiokids and Stargate who shaped the way we approach pop music. Now we're living in London its the likes Pete Hofmann, Hurts,

Hannah Robinson and Jamie XX who've all contributed in the way Hakon and me write together".
