Adrenaline Mob voted iTUNES UK Best New Metal Artist of the Year with debut album Omertà

Adrenaline Mob iTUNES UK Best New Metal Artist of the Year with Omertà

Adrenaline Mob voted iTUNES UK Best New Metal Artist of the Year with debut album Omertà

With best of categories in Pop, R’n’B and Rock, iTUNES (UK) has recognised Mike Portnoy’s Adrenaline Mob as best new metal artist of the year with their stunning inaugurate album, ‘Omertà’. To celebrate the album will feature on iTUNES over Christmas at the special price of £5.99 from December 11th.

Bringing together acclaimed Symphony X singer Russell Allen, former Dream Theater and Avenged Sevenfold drum virtuoso Mike Portnoy, and Sonic Stomp shred extraordinaire Mike Orlando, Adrenaline Mob is a musical mafia of the highest order!

Russell Allen comments, "We are extremely honored to be voted New Artist of the Year in the metal category by iTUNES UK and we can't wait to cross the pond and rock out with all the awesome UK metal heads!"

On Omertà, the group cranks out one bruising hard rock anthem after another. Songs like the first single “Undaunted” and “Hit the Wall” hijack the right level of instrumental intricacy and taut technicality while grooving and moving fluidly. At the same time, “Angel Sky” takes flight on a massive lead and heavenly refrain.

The band is currently gearing up to record a number of cover songs for a special CD edition of Omertà to be released in 2013.

"It was quite an experience making the album,” recalls Dave LaRue. “It's been an inspiring challenge melding folk, prog, pop and metal into one big recording."

Mike Portnoy was the co-founding member and drummer for the world’s biggest prog metal band Dream Theater.  Neal Morse is the co-founding member of the prog rock bands Spock’s Beard and Transatlantic.  David LaRue is the bassist for the Dixie Dregs and has worked with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.  Steve Morse is the lead guitarist for Deep Purple.  Casey McPherson is the lead singer for Alpha Rev, who has experienced success on US radio with numerous hit singles including “New Morning”.

The formation of Flying Colors began with a simple idea: virtuoso musicians and a pop singer joining together to make new-fashioned music the old fashioned way.  Refreshing, classic, old and new, the recordings are saturated with the many styles, tones and hues of the players who, in becoming a band, have delivered a unique fusion of vintage craftsmanship and contemporary music.

Mike Portnoy was the co-founding member and drummer for one of the world’s biggest prog metal bands “Dream Theater”. Neal Morse is the co-founding member of the prog rock band Spock’s Beard and is currently the prog rock supergroup “Transatlantic”.  David LaRue plays bass for the Dixie Dregs and has also worked with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.  Steve Morse has been playing lead guitar for Deep Purple for the last 16 years. Founder and leader of “Alpha Rev”, Casey McPherson, has enjoyed major success in the US with multiple hits including the song “New Morning”.

"It was quite an experience,” recalls Dave LaRue. “The band moved at a fast pace, ideas flying around the room at all times. Sections of tunes were arranged, and then re-arranged. Ideas were tried every which way until we made them work, or, in some cases, discarded them altogether. Just keeping track of everything was a challenge!" The album is filled with trial and triumph. It's been an inspiring challenge melding folk, prog, pop, and metal all into one big recording."
