The Tunnel Of Love End of Summer Party
7.30pm, Saturday 18 September @ The Williamson Tunnels
5 days to go until we make our long awaited return to the Williamson Tunnels, for a special end of summer Tunnel Of Love Bash. From that hot-bed of psychedelic madness, Nottingham via some far off yet to be named galaxy, we welcome THE SOUNDCARRIERS who are touring in support of their critically acclaimed second album, Celeste.
The Soundcarrier’s recently released second LP, ‘Celeste’ [Melodic], received almost universal critical acclaim (a 4 out of 5 clean sweep across the monthly magazines - Mojo, The Guardian, Uncut, Q, The Times, Record Collector and Artrocker) for its unique analog mix of harmonies and groove. A sun-dappled, psychedelic take on 70s motorik pop, they’re best described in the words of Professor Justin Spear, “Exactly where The Soundcarriers were really 'coming from' was long in debate: Nottingham? The West Coast? Saturn? The sound moves between all three locales. It doesn't really matter where you land, the atmosphere is always perfect
"I Had A Girl is the best song ever written" - Jim Noir
"Very well written and produced" - Dan Snaith, Caribou
"Riveting" - Shindig
"A splendid future awaits" - Mojo
"Top banana" - NME
"Hauntingly beautiful and wide eyed" - Rough Trade Shops
"Exceptional" - Record Collector

Wait, there's more...
Also starring at the tunnels will be one of our local favourites, and straight here from The Wirral (there must be something in the water over there) via Mersey Ferries the long awaited return of By The Sea, who have been taking some time off to record their debut EP inside Liverpool's Scandinavian Church. Their love of strange venue's doesn't stretch to underground tunnels,
If you close your eyes you can almost hear the sounds of the forest and the crackling of the campfire around you, and on the edge of the flickering light you can see the shadows of the imps and sprites of Mother Nature dancing in the gloaming light, weaving their spells and drawing you in. That is By The Sea, a new band to take you on a journey and cast you under their spell.

We also welcome ex-Little Flame, Eva Petersen who will be sharing her own unique take on 60's retro cool, with a voice to make even Dusty Springfield weep, okay that was a bit far-fetched, but you get the jist. The current crop of nu-what ever you want to call it, yes you Adele, haven't got a patch on Eva.
