Fast rising pop / RnB sensation Cherri V returns with the release her debut EP ‘Shades of Red’. Featuring a collection of brand new, uniquely dynamic tracks, the EP provides an exciting musical taster from an artist destined to become part of every music lover’s essential ‘5-a-day’.
London-born Cherri has music running through her blood – literally. Not only is her mother an established recording artist, but she is also the niece of award-winning soul legend Mica Paris. In 2005 Cherri formed part of the R&B trio ‘Trinity Stone’ alongside current Sugababe Jade Ewan. With the band, she performed a number of live gigs alongside the likes of Girls Aloud, McFly and Ms Dynamite. But Cherri’s big chance came in 2007 when the band came to an amicable end, paving the way for the launch of Cherri V as a solo artist. She was quickly snapped up by independent label 6060 Music who swiftly sealed her musical fate. This is where the true talent of Cherri came to fruition as she was given free rein to write, and sing her own music, a liberating privilege, which has given way to a truly fresh and unique sound.
Featuring production from the likes of Harmony (Chipmunk, Chris Brown, Maroon 5), Dready (50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Jeezy, Lloyd Banks), and Davinche (Kano, Wiley, Tinchy Stryder, Estelle) and collaborations with the likes of Lady Leshurr, Angel, J2K and Shola Ama, ‘Shades of Red’ is set to become a huge milestone in what is sure to be a long and illustrious career for this exceptionally talented singer / songwriter . Cherri has already kicked off the summer with some huge live shows, including a performance on this year’s Glastonbury Hub Stage and a support slot at the Indig02 supporting Fantasia, and with the latest single from the EP, titled ‘Hard To Love You’, already picking up incredible support from top industry tastemakers (the single was debuted on BBC Radio 1 last week), the wheels are firmly set in motion for Cherri V to become one of the UK’s biggest musical triumphs in 2011.
