SubSound launched the 2013 season in massive style with a total lock out night down at 40 Seel St when hundreds of party people were blown off their feet when ‘An Evening With Krafty Kuts’ touched down in Liverpool!
On 20th April SubSound comes back to smash it once again when it plays host to Hot Cakes head honchos 'Deekline and Ed Solo', celebrating their spanking new double album Bounce 'n' Shake. With the album featuring vocal contributions from the likes of Million Dan, Top Cat, Darrison and Sporty-O and ranging from the baddest breakbeat to the most kick-ass jungle, via some serious dubstep rollers, you know this night will have something for everyone and have us all reaching for the lasers!
Deekline is that rare figure in dance music, the seminal producer who balances the cutting edge and the mainstream with effortless flair. Up there with the busiest artists in the scene, Deekline splits his time between regular worldwide DJ tours, relentless production work and overseeing the six record labels he heads up. A bonafide musical shapeshifter, his countless releases have erupted into both the underground and mainstream worlds, gaining support from the likes of Diplo, Craze, DJ Hype, Afrojack, Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs and Krafty Kuts; representing bass music in its truest form; a melting pot of dubstep, UK funky, garage, bassline, dancehall and breakstep.
There aren’t many people that can say no to this guy right now, and with international promoters clambering over themselves to lock Deekline into their diaries over the coming months to say we are happy to have him play SubSound is somewhat of an understatement!

Strangely enough for an artist named Ed 'Solo', this prolific producer used to be best known for his collaborations with other artists. Deekline, Krafty Kuts, Skool of Thought and drum ‘n’ bass legend Brockie have all benefited from getting Ed alongside them in the studio. And yet that solo moniker also – rightly – suggests a confidence in his ability to go out on his own. Ed is an iconic artist on each of the drum ‘n’ bass, breaks and dubstep scenes. The East London lad who grew up listening to pirate radios and cut his teeth as a production assistant at the famous Sour studios really is a Jedi master of sonic science. Drop the needle on an Ed Solo record and you’ll soon know about it – throwing clubbers through a skanked out half-time prism and bringing them back to the floor in full effect no one makes club music that cuts through a sound system quite like him.
Joining the headliners is 'Mr Midas' himself Featurecast who has proved to have the golden touch in his field. AKA Lee Mintram, well known by his colleagues as a 'bloody nice chap' hails from the UK’s South coast and has had an incredible couple of years churning out one huge track after another. From DJing to producing this fella is a juggernaut tearing down the scene with his impressive catalogue of chart topping releases and his skills on the decks acclaimed world wide. Releasing on exceptional labels such as GoodGroove, Bomb Strikes, Jalapeno, Catskills, Jam City and Funk Weapons, Featurecast has produced some of the biggest party tracks and bootlegs on this scene pummelling the top of charts. DJ’s have to agree it’s not a party unless you have Featurecast tracks in the bag!
Making a welcome return to the SubSound stage is Jay Robinson, the 24 year old producer hailing from North Wales whose productions are gaining support from modern electronic music’s most elite artists including Laurent Garnier, DJ Chuckie, Armand Van Helden, Laidback Luke, Fake Blood, Etienne De Crecy, Armin Van Buuren and more. With production partner Il Diablo, Jay is one half of Duo ‘Dub Frequency’, who have garnered huge support worldwide including plays on BBC Radio1’s dance shows by Kissy Sell Out, Dave Spoon and more. With his Radio 1 plays ever increasing, and with a guest mix recently aired on the award winning Annie Nightingale show, Jay’s name is never far from the tongues of the world’s finest DJs.
Backing up these legends of dance music are SubSound residents Dj NorX and James Sims. So for another epic night of raveology get on board with yet another base heavy booty shaking extravaganza from team SubSound that is taking the Liverpool clubbing scene by storm!
