London based four piece Careless Sons release second single Wasted Avenue
Careless Sons will release their second single, Wasted Avenue, on 30th May 2014. Following-up their debut single Rosary, it continues the theme of loud, crunchy guitars and soaring pop melodies played with reckless abandon. Exposing the ultimate incompatibility of dreams and dishwashers,Wasted Avenue is the perennial elephant in the room, the drunken saboteur with its face pressed to the window on your wedding night, the nightjar gargling “Dimming of the Day” into your ear as you sleep.
Abused but unabashed, Wasted Avenue prickles with malcontent washed up on a tide of gallows humour. From the panicked vitriol of the opening riff, through to the abject resignation of the chorus' pop refrain, frontman Dickon Collinson surmises, “Wasted Avenue proposes to yesterday, today and ditches it for today, tomorrow”.
Careless Sons are a four piece guitar band based in London, via Cambridge and Manchester. Likened to Manic Street Preachers, Ash and Arctic Monkeys, they play their own brand of loud, footstomping pop ‘n’ roll in a “carefree, youthful, rock ’n’ roll manner” (The Manchester Culture Show).
Forming in early 2013, they soon set about delivering songs with shameless, euphoric pop melodies and a hard edge at various venues across London. Along the way they have supported bands such as Lux Lisbon, CHILDCARE and S*M*A*S*H, as well as picking up a number of plays on local, national and international radio stations including BBC London. By the beginning of 2014, the band was ready to launch its debut single, entitled Rosary, to a packed house Upstairs @ The Garage in Highbury and
Islington, London.
In keeping with tradition, Careless Sons will launch Wasted Avenue, along with free cocktails and generous helpings of energy, with a gig at The Islington, north London on Saturday 7th June 2014.
Tickets will be £8 on the door, but are available for bargain prices in advance via
