MusicMafia presents Manchester band The Marivaux
The Marivaux are a new underground indie/rock band made up of four young lads with strong support in Manchester, England.
Their journey through the traditional education system has thrown them onto a blank sheet, overwritten by unemployment, recession and dead end jobs making them part of this lost generation.
They have refused to be strangled by the shirt and tie lifestyle, taking up their instruments to escape, creating a sound, at a volume that cannot easily be ignored.
The band have a strong social conscience and believe we all have inner talents that we need to be express to fulfill our full potential.
“Release the inner artist in you!”-The Marivaux
They have recently completed a European tour including dates in London, Paris, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, and Amsterdam and currently run their own promotional nights in Manchester.
They have been approached by several established industry musicians who have been keen to work with them and they are currently working on their debut album being produced by “Ding” Archer (The Fall, Pixies, PJ Harvey) with contributions from Cass Lewis (Skunk Anansie) and John Ellis (Oceansize).
They have recently been featured in the Manchester Evening News (UK) and are beginning to gain some well-deserved exposure.
They anticipate a debut single launch date of the 18th May 2014 with 2nd and 3rd releases in September and Nov 2014 respectively culminating in an album launch in Jan 2015.
On the strength of their live performances they have been approached by The Ray Lowry Foundation to put together a live event in Late 2014 in conjunction with a single launch.
Ray Lowry was the Mancunian artist and illustrator who created artwork for the likes of the seminal THE CLASH album “LONDON CALLING”, he also has worked for The Guardian, NME and Private Eye and his past work has been displayed in exhibitions in New York and Tokyo.
