Liverpool's Freeze announce Summer Sessions at The Williamson Tunnels

Liverpool's Freeze announce Summer Sessions at The Williamson Tunnels

Freeze return this summer bringing you two cool summer parties at The Williamson Tunnels for summer sessions with Greg Wilson and friends on Saturday 31st May and then returning back at The Bombed Out Church (TBC).

We have 3 summer sessions in 3 different venues over the summer curated by Greg Wilson. First up we are back to the Tunnels

We do things differently here at Freeze. The two defining features of our parties have been the choice of venues we do and the fact we let theexperts, the DJs and record labels that define the music we all love, curate and shape their own shows with us. It's why we've worked with Cadenza, Kompakt, Bedrock and Innervisions in the most jaw dropping spaces in Liverpool. This summer we're carrying that attitude onwards.

We're asking Greg Wilson to bring his choice of artists down to party over three dates this summer, taking place in the city's most alluring and well loved venues. First off we're returning to the Williamson Tunnels on May 31st for a day and night party, with Greg bringing long term friend and collaborator Derek Kaye (who tore Wallasey a new one with us recently) to the party, alongside our dependable 'best resident in the world' Jemmy.

The last time Greg and Derek played together at the Fallout Factory the show sold out well in advance; we expect this one to do the same. We'll release further details about the other two parties with Greg later in the year.

Fred Perry Sub-Sonic Live presents a very special evening curated by David Rodigan MBE

Fred Perry Sub-Sonic Live presents a very special evening curated by David Rodigan MBE

Fred Perry Sub-Sonic Live presents a very special evening curated by David Rodigan MBE

Fred Perry’s Sub-Sonic Live returns with a specially curated event by legendary ambassador for British reggae, David Rodigan MBE. Fred Perry has enjoyed a unique relationship with music and street style since the 1950’s and the Sub-Sonic Live nights celebrate the musical and cultural pioneers who have left a lasting influence over contemporary culture.  Sub-sonic Live brings together the most influential heritage artists and tomorrow’s trailblazers and previous guests have included Andrew Weatherall, Afrika Bambaataa, Terry Hall, Greg Wilson, The Horrors, Factory Floor, Tom Vek and King Krule.

David Rodigan MBE has been famous throughout Britain’s reggae dance-halls for over 30 years. His extensive knowledge of Jamaica’s every artist, every song and every rhythm track, makes him the perfect choice to curate this very special Sub-Sonic Live, focusing on reggae and British reggae - two of the most significant subcultures of the last forty years.

Joining David is Lee "Scratch" Perry. A recording pioneer of the reggae world, Lee "Scratch" Perry is one of the most important artist-producers to have ever stepped into a recording studio. Building an experimental recording studio in his back yard in Jamaica, "Scratch" was producer on early recordings for such notable musicians as Bob Marley and the Wailers, Junior Byles, The Heptones, and Max Romeo. Now in his seventies, Perry continues to contribute to the forefront of new music, with his recent work including collaboration with electronic explorers, The Orb.

Completing the line-up in the main room is live dub act Resonators, heralded by David Rodigan as "British Reggae at its best" and drawing praise from Mark Lamarr, Lauren Laverne and Craig Charles among others.

Appearing on the night will be Venum DJ’s aka Kris Snakes and Monkey Harris, two lifelong friends with a penchant for all things vinyl and in search of the perfect beat.  Their sets draw from funk, soul, hip-hop and reggae through to the early drum and bass scene and beyond.  Also taking to the decks will be Jet Letts, son of the legendary punk filmmaker Don Letts who is rapidly making a name for himself as a DJ and producer who marries house and post-dubstep to mesmerising effect.  Jet will be joined by some very special friends on the evening.

This show is part of Fred Perry’s Sub-Sonic Live series. Sub-Sonic Live has been an integral part of Fred Perry’s Subculture website reporting on the best of emerging international talent. Sub-Sonic Live is the live manifestation of the concept.

Introducing Ritual a new monthly residency at Chelsea's Under the Bridge

Launching on 2nd February 2013, Ritual is a brand new monthly night from the team behind Tempo Tantrum and The Music League championing the best in electronic music, taking place at stylish and recently launched West London music venue Under the Bridge. Bringing forward-thinking line-ups to an area of London which has historically only catered for a mainstream crowd, Ritual is set to be a rite of passage for any electronic music enthusiast, showcasing the best sounds across the electronic spectrum including house, techno, electro, breaks, funky, disco and bass.

Starting as they mean to go on, the line up for the launch event in February will reflect the programming of the series, drawing from heritage, current and live acts. Widely regarded as one of the most important figures on the UK dance scene, Greg Wilson will be headlining the launch on February 2nd 2013. Having been producing tracks and DJing since 1975, Wilson is undoubtedly one of the pioneers of the UK dance scene. With a reputation for throwing amazing parties and playing unmatchable sets, with their unique blend of dancefloor fillers, Horse Meat Disco are also confirmed to play at Ritual’s launch alongside exciting Brighton-based house producer Maxxi Soundsystem. Providing the live element will be Concrete Disco, who manage to successfully combine the best elements of DJ and band performance in what is guaranteed to be a highly charged and memorable show.

At a time when electronic music is such a dominant force, an acute emphasis on sound and visuals is imperative and this is something the venue very much prides itself on. A hidden gem and the perfect home for Ritual, Under the Bridge is purpose-built with the highest attention to detail, and features stunning, state-of-the-art sound and lighting. The only venue of its kind in the area, it features an immense State of the art LED screen which provides a very impressive backdrop to the stage. The residency will also be involving Deerstalker, the artists responsible for the visuals at the sell-out Brixton Academy show ‘Leftfield and Friends’- a unique and exciting touch. Additionally, the 500 capacity venue and its location in the heart of West London (located beneath Chelsea Football Club's stadium), offers a much-needed fresh alternative to east London’s over-saturated and monotonous market.

Brought together by two ambitious females with a wealth of experience within the music industry, Ritual is set to become an essential game-changer for the electronic music scene, combining the highest calibre of electronic artists with state of the art sound and visuals, in what will be an utterly unique and memorable clubbing experience.
