Tuatara to release new album Underworld

TUATARA, the renowned instrumental supergroup featuring members of REM, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees, and Luna, are releasing  their first album in almost 7 years. The new album, titled "Underworld", will be released on August 4th 2014, via Barrett Martin’s label, Sunyata Records.

It is an ambitious 20-song double album produced by drummer and group founder Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Mad Season, Walking Papers), and mixed by Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees).

"Underworld" is an album that plays more like a modern movie soundtrack, steeped in electronic moods and urban beats, hypnotic bass and guitar, virtuosic saxophone, and shimmering percussion. The album features all five original members: Drummer Barrett Martin, REM guitarist Peter Buck, Luna bassist Justin Harwood, tenor sax legend Skerik, and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready.

Like the soundtrack for a movie that has yet to be made, this album is about a journey into the Underworld, the mythical abode of the dead, a place of departed souls and wandering spirits, where deities and demigods battle with shamans and medicine men for spiritual supremacy. It is the realm of shades, a world of shadows and echoes, and that is where our story takes place. It's also where the most interesting stuff happens....

Drew is a contributor to Google Ocean, and he uses the Tuatara song  for his short film about ocean conservancy. His film, “Save Your Planet Everyday", was recently  debuted  at the Reef Renaissance Film Festival on St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.

Pearl Jam confirmed as second headliner for Open'er festival

Pearl Jam confirmed as second headliner for Open'er festival

Open'er is proud to announce that it's second headliner for 2014 is Pearl Jam.  The rock music legends will join fellow headliners The Black Keys in Gydnia, Poland at one of Europe's best music festivals in July.  Pusha T has also been confirmed for the festival.

Pearl Jam announced today that they will embark on an eleven-date European tour in June and July of 2014. The band's summer tour kicks off on June 16th in Amsterdam, NL, and wraps up on July 11th in Milton Keynes, UK, including just two festival headlining slots (including Open'er Festival on July 3rd).

Pearl Jam released their much-anticipated tenth studio album, Lightning Bolt, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on October 15, 2013 in the United States. Internationally, the album was released on October 14, 2013 and distributed by Universal Music Group International. Produced by Brendan O’Brien, Lightning Bolt marks Pearl Jam’s first studio album since the highly acclaimed Backspacer, which was released in September of 2009.

Lightning Bolt debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart as well as #1 on iTunes in over 50 countries. The album is available now at www.pearljam.com, via iTunes and all major retailers.

In 1991, Pearl Jam's debut album, Ten, catapulted the little-known Seattle-based band into superstardom. Ten studio albums, hundreds of unique live performances and hundreds of official live concert bootleg releases later, the band continue to be critically acclaimed and commercially successful -- with over 60 million albums sold worldwide.

Over the past twenty-two years, the band has remained a major force in rock and roll, as much for its aggressive loyalty to its social and political principles and restless experimentation as for its rock radio staples and best selling albums.

In 2011, Pearl Jam celebrated their 20-year anniversary with a destination weekend in Alpine Valley, WI and toured Canada, South America, Central America, and Mexico. The band also released the film Pearl Jam Twenty along with an accompanying book and soundtrack as part of the anniversary celebration.

Tickets to Open'er Festival now on sale in ALTERSHOP and Ticketpro outlets.

Bon Jovi to play Isle Of Wight festival 2013

Rock act Bon Jovi are to play a headline slot and close the show at next year's Isle Of Wight Festival. The New Jersey band - whose hits include Living On A Prayer - will play the main stage on Sunday June 16, making their debut at the event.

They join The Stone Roses who were yesterday confirmed to perform at the Isle Of Wight, topping the first night bill on the Friday.

Bon Jovi - who have sold more than 130 million albums in a three-decade career - will be playing their only UK festival performance of 2013.

Frontman Jon Bon Jovi said his group was "honoured" to be playing.
"The Isle of Wight Festival is legendary and we're excited to join in the long tradition of rock'n'roll history," he said.

"This will mark our first visit to the island and I expect it will prove to be a highlight of our tour and of 2013."

Promoter John Giddings said: "I can't imagine a better rock band with more hits to close our Sunday night."

This year, artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, Noel Gallagher and Jessie J were among the big-name performers.

Last year, the festival was marred by torrential rain and transport problems, with some festival-goers being forced to sleep in cars as ferry services were suspended and car parks shut due to flooding.

Tickets for Isle of Wight Festival 2013 go on general sale tomorrow at 9am. Further acts will be confirmed for the festival later this week.
