30th July - 2nd August 2015
Lowther Deer Park / Hackthorpe / The Lake District

Having sold out all tickets a huge 5 months in advance, Kendal Calling are announcing even more acts for this year’s huge 10th birthday lineup.

Headlining the Calling Out stage on the Sunday night this year is none other than grunge legends Mark Lanegan Band. Having been a member of Screaming Trees and Queens Of The Stone Age as well as collaborating with the likes of Isobel Campbell and Greg Dulli and of course his work as a prolific solo artist, his distinct baritone voice places him as one of the most distinctive artists in the world.

Taking to the stage to headline the Friday is ex-Supergrass hero Gaz Coombes. Following the demise of his previous band, his solo career has gone from strength to strength not least represented in his latest album Matador, eleven tracks showing an artist at the top of his game and full of raw, powerful pop.

Kendal Calling are also excited to announced the lineup for Bondax and Friends over on the Glow Tent. Festival favourite Lancashire duo Bondax will be joined by a DJ set from beat manufacturing electronic twosome DJ Maribou State, Sheffield Black Butter signee Kidnap Kid, Grammy nominated multi instrumentalist and producer Jax Jones and young UK producer Grades.

Elsewhere, incredible English psych-rockers Temples will take the main stage for what is sure to be one of the stand out moments of the weekend and The Sunshine Underground return to the festival to headline the Woodlands Stage on the Sunday night. Also joining the lineup are Kim Churchill, Propellers, Jesca Hoop, Habitats, Francisco The Man, Gramotones, New Palace Talkies, Rhain, DRONE X VEED, Collectors Club, Steve Levine, Chadelics, Time For T, Cactus Knife, Secret Company, Bruising and Loyle Carner across the festival’s array of stages.

NME Awards Tour 2014 - Line up and Dates

Packed to the brim with the hottest music, the NME Awards Tour 2014 with Austin, Texas returns for 2014. Interpol, Temples, Royal Blood and Circa Waves are all confirmed to perform on the legendary tour, which kicks off in Glasgow on 18 March and ends in London on 27 March. Tickets go on presale at 9am on Wednesday 22 January via www.NME.COM and are available on general sale from 9am on Friday 24 January.

New York rockers and kings of the post-punk revival, Interpol will headline the NME Awards Tour 2014 with Austin, Texas. The band’s fashionably dark atmospheric sound coupled with intricate guitars, Paul Banks’ somber baritone and a striking visual presence make Interpol an unmissable headliner. Expect hits ‘Slow Hands’, ‘Obstacle 1’, ‘NYC’ and ‘Evil’ plus a first look at some new material.

They supported the Rolling Stones last year and now Temples have secured the main support slot on the infamous tour. The Brit psychedelic four-piece have gained critical-acclaim over the past 12 months and will bring crowds a taste of sixties vintage pop. The band’s debut album ‘Sun Structures’ is due for release 10 February.

Nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2014 and due to support the Arctic Monkeys this summer, noise-rock band Royal Blood will also be hitting the road with NME in March. The hotly-tipped two-piece pack a powerful punch live and are set for great things in 2014.

Securing the sought-after NME Awards Tour opening slot is Liverpool quartet Circa Waves.  The band have made quite a name for themselves already with single ‘Get Away’ chosen as ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Radio One’s Zane Lowe.

NME editor, Mike Williams, says: “Here at NME we are always championing the best new talent, so securing three of Britain's most in demand breakthrough bands to kick off proceedings for the tour is totally exciting. Backed up with the world-beating return of Interpol – one of the most important bands to come out of New York ever – is also a massive coup for us.”

The NME Awards Tour is one of the most important events in the music calendar and has been instrumental in launching the careers of some of the biggest acts in music, including Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and Florence + The Machine.

The first leg of the NME Awards Tour 2014 begins at Glasgow’s O2 Academy on 18 March before travelling to Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bristol and wrapping up at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 27 March.

The NME Awards Tour 2014 with Austin, Texas concludes two months of awe inspiring music events from the 2014 NME Awards season, including the NME Awards Shows which kick off on 3 February running up until 25 February at venues across London and the NME Awards 2014 night on the 26 February at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

Tickets go on presale at 9am on Wednesday 22 January via www.NME.COM and are available on general sale from 9am on Friday 24 January. Tickets include a 50p donation to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Sound City announce Bastille, On An On, Temples, Duologue and more to an outstanding line up for first festival of the year

Bastille, On An On, Temples, Duologue
Sound City is thrilled to confirm even more exciting acts for the first festival of the year.  Famed for showcasing the most adventurous acts in the world right now, Sound City is a thrilling three day rock n’ roller coaster and the first opportunity to catch the globes most boundary pushing artists in one place before they hit the summer festival circuit.  Last year saw Mercury Music Prize winners Alt-J, Jake Bugg and Django Django perform before the bands released critically and commercially acclaimed albums later in the year and previous performances have included early shows from Florence and the Machine, The Maccabeesand Ed Sheeran.
The most exciting prospect in indie for a long time, Bastille, recently entered the UK album chart at number 1 with their debut album, ‘Bad Blood’ and have been confirmed to appear at Sound City.  Bad Blood is full of triumphantly melancholic anthems, epic sounding instrumentation and lyrics that combine intimate stories and conversation and their clever pop has cast Bastille as leading lights in the current resurgence of guitar music in the UK.
Sound City is committed to providing a platform for emerging musical talent and new confirmations include the fuzzy guitars and chunky synth riffs of On an On, the psychedelic sounds of Temples, the dance floor friendly beats of local boys Tea Street Band, the effortless marriage of rock and electronica that is Duologue and hotly tipped Liverpool bandLoved Ones.  By The Sea, All We Are, Broken Men, Bird, Nadine Carina, Ady Suleiman, Concrete Knives, Sun Glitters, Mutiny On The Bounty, Afternaut and Silent Sleep also join the bill.
The line-up for this year’s Sound City is hugely impressive and will feature very special shows from Noah and the Whale, Dexys and The Walkmen, all of whom will be performing in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.  Other acts not to be missed at Sound City includeEverything Everything, AlunaGeorge, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, King Krule, Mount Kimbie, Thee Oh Sees, Drenge and Oneohtrix Point Never as the globes most pioneering musical adventurers descend on Liverpool for the first festival of the year.

Wolf People, Toy, Hawk Eyes and more announced for Wet Nuns festival Detestival

Wet Nuns festival Detestival

Wolf People, Toy, Hawk Eyes and more announced for Wet Nuns festival Detestival

Hell-raising duo Wet Nuns, in association with KRAKEN RUM and THRONG OF NOBS, have announced the full line-up for their very own festival, 'Detestival', this coming March 2013.

The monster line-up for the two-day festival is now confirmed as Wolf People, Toy, Hawk Eyes, Bo Ningen, Wet Nuns, Temples, Hookworms, Black Moth, Throng, Kult Country, John J Presley, Salem Rages, Blood Sport, Temple of Coke, Dry Heaves and Flaming Skulls.

The festival takes place at Queen’s Social Club in Sheffield over the Easter weekend of March 30th and 31st, with limited weekend tickets available now for just £14 in advance from harleylive.co.uk/ticket-shop, seetickets, com, and other selected outlets.

The line-up for Detestival was exclusively hand-picked by Wet Nuns and with the support of Kraken Rum. This is what the band had this to say about their very first Detestival;

One of the best things about being in a band, along with substandard motorway food, unimaginable inter-gig boredom, fractured relationships and soul crushing financial sacrifice, is the opportunity to play alongside and witness other bands.

Detestival is basically an incredibly selfish opportunity for us to put on what we think is the best line up of bands in the UK, every single band performing on the weekend we have either played with or seen in the last couple of years. We adore and hate every single band with a fiery intensity, they are all far too good and talented and we hate and love them for it. Now we have created an opportunity for us to play with them all, in the city where we have honed our sloppy talent.

Weekend tickets for Detestival are on-sale from the following online sites now; harleylive.co.uk/ticket-shop, seetickets.com, gigantic.com/harleylive,

Tickets are also available from the following outlets in Sheffield; The Harley, The Wick At Both Ends, Record Collector, HMV Sheffield, The Old Sweet Shop.

More news and info about Wet Nuns and Detestival can be found at www.wetnuns.com.
