The Lumineers - brand new video and deluxe album reissue

The Lumineers are also set to release a deluxe reissue of their hugely successful self-titled debut album on Monday 21st October. The album, which is certified platinum (300,000+ copies) in the UK has spent 48 weeks in the charts, while first single Ho Hey was recently announced as one of the most streamed songs of last year.

The band’s numerous festival performances (Glastonbury, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds, iTunes) and nominations cement what has been a phenomenal year for the Denver five-piece who have sold over 2 million copies globally of their album globally and over 3.5 million single downloads of Ho Hey.

The deluxe reissue sees five new tracks appear, including rarities, a live performance and a cover of Talking Heads’ This Must Be The Place (Naïve Melody). In addition, the package features a DVD containing the documentary On The Road With The Lumineers as well as the music videos for Ho Hey and Stubborn Love. All content is included in digital purchases from iTunes.

The Lumineers will be touring in late November, ending with their largest UK headline show to date at London’s Alexandra Palace on Tuesday 28th November. Demand for tickets in the past year has been astonishing; graduating from Hoxton Bar and Grill, to Koko, then Shepherd's Bush Empire and two consecutive nights at Brixton Academy, followed by a sold out UK tour. This latest set of shows will blow their previous dates out of the water – you need only take one look at the audience engagement at their Reading slot to see how dedicated and enthusiastic their fan base is.

To see them live is to see the band, led by front man Wesley Schultz, at its very best. So far, the demand for tickets in the UK has been astonishing; graduating from Hoxton Bar and Grill, to Koko, then Shepherd's Bush Empire and two consecutive nights at Brixton Academy, followed by sold out shows across the country. From this, to now headlining the 10,400-strong Alexandra Palace shows, The Lumineers are truly unstoppable.

The band's numerous performances and nominations cement what has been a phenomenal year for the Denver five-piece who have sold over 2 million copies of their debut self-titled album globally and over 4.5 million single copies of their debut single 'Ho Hey' in the US alone. In the UK, the album has hit the 300,000 mark, reaching an official chart hight at #8, while 'Ho Hey' is also certified Platinum. Both the album and single have been fluctuating in the UK iTunes top 10 since release last year with sales increasing week on week.

Another highlight this year was The Lumineers' performance at the legendary Grammy Awards 2013, at which they were nominated for bother "Best New Artist" and "Best Americana Album".

Support for the UK tour will come from California based alt-folk band Thao and The Get Down Stay Down.

Tickets go on-sale this Friday, August 30th at 9:00am. For ticket links and info check out: www.thelumineers.com/tour-dates

Reading Festival 2013 review - Day Three

Reading Festival 2013 review - Day Three

Day three saw a slightly exhausted and bedraggled Reading Festival crowd after the rain soaked night before but this didn't stop the crowd from loving every minute of the Fall Out Boy Set as they played an energetic and furious set playing all the obvious songs (We're Going Down, This Ain't a Scene, thanks fr th Mmrs) and new tracks from the new album including Save Rock and Roll. The group seem to genuinely like Reading Festival and it showed in their performance.

The Lumineers before Fall Out Boy brought their own style of southern jig music to Reading. Playing a great sing-a-long set for the crowd who embrace sets like these with open arms. The oddly placed Nine Inch Nails set preluded Biffy Clyro. I say odd as with all the other acts on today someone with their following wouldn't want to sit to a relatively emo/indie laden day on the main stage. But, as always, they put on a great show which is worth watching for the visuality of it if nothing else. Trent Reznor putting in his famous focused and intense performance and in their defence nothing came close to their full out onslaught on the festival goers of Reading than this. It was tight, it was grandiose yet small and at times egotistic but it was Nine Inch Nails

As Biffy took to the Main stage, I wandered over to the Lock Up stage to see Enter Shikari and the premier of their Shikari Sound System. With a lighting set up to rival the nine inch nails, you were almost blinded by the glow they did more of an electronic set even mixing the theme from the Apprentice with a cover of Bring me the Horizon's "Can you feel my Heart" was ingenious. Showcasing why they are one of the best bands around and if they're not on the main stage next year then someone seriously needs to check their heads.

The Lumineers announce iTunes festival date

The Lumineers announce iTunes festival date

The Lumineers are pleased to announce they will be headlining one of this year’s iTunes Festival shows at the Roundhouse in London on Tuesday 3rd September. The performance comes the day after the release of their new single ‘Submarines’, from their Platinum (300k)-selling debut album, out on 2nd September.

The band have been playing to adoring crowds at Glastonbury’s Other Stage (at which they clambered into the audience to perform amongst their fans), and T in the Park. The Lumineers are set to make their way to Belfast’s Belsonic Festival, Reading and Leeds later this month, and then to London for the iTunes festival on 3rd September.

Frontman Wesley Schultz said: “We’ve heard nothing but great things about the Roundhouse and the overall iTunes Festival experience. We look forward to hearing the fans sing along and seeing the venue we’ve heard so much about.”

To see them live is to see the band, led by Schultz, at its very best. The demand for tickets in the UK has been astonishing; graduating from Hoxton Bar and Grill to KOKO, then Shepherd’s Bush Empire and two consecutive nights at Brixton Academy, followed by a sold out UK tour. The band will be back in November for another UK Tour. Details to be announced soon.

Another highlight this year was The Lumineers’ performance at the legendary Grammy Awards 2013, at which they were nominated for both “Best New Artist” and “Best Americana Album.“

The band’s numerous performances and nominations cement what has been a phenomenal year for the Denver five-piece who have sold over 2 million copies of their debut self-titled album globally and over 3.5 million single downloads of their debut single ‘Ho Hey’. Both the album and single have been fluctuating in the UK iTunes top 10 since release last year with sales increasing week on week.

New single ‘Submarines’ offers yet another small-but-perfectly-formed hit, starting with a simple piano hook and building throughout, until it leaves you wanting more.
