Rebel Bingo returns to the UK next week for two 2 dates only in September

This September Rebel Bingo returns to London after a few months travelling the world recruiting new members to their cult. They’re only back for two nights before they head off again so if you need a fix go to www.rebelbingo.com for tickets and info.

This is not bingo. It’s Rebel Bingo. It’s a mutant form of bingo some friends invented by accident when they were drunk one night. It’s loud and emotional. The old school bingo community don’t approve. But the rebels don’t care. They’re crazy like that.

It’s hard to explain what happens at Rebel Bingo. It’s a party. There’s a stage show, DJs, dancing and drinking. And you play Rebel Bingo. And you can win stuff. So, if you like music, dancing, playing, laughing and maybe winning stuff go join them. Just don’t tell your nan. She won’t like you experimenting with Rebel Bingo.

The music policy is eclectic. Expect punk rock, indie, old school hip hop, garage, 00s stuff, 90s stuff, 80s stuff. Anything really.

WHERE: At a secret location somewhere in Shoreditch
WHEN: Friday 14th and Saturday 15th September

Fred Perry SubSonic Live in April played host to one of its most bombastic shows to date, with Greg Wilson and Afrika Bambaataa stepping behind the turntables. Next month, the legendary Islington Garage opens it doors

to Chew Lips. Having received huge critical praise within an inordinately small space of time, Chew Lips are an indie-pop collective with real clout! Riding the wave of positive momentum, their sophomore LP is laced with smartly sung vocals, and sharp melodies. On a visual level, the band are famed for their electric live shows so expect a main-stage performance bursting with energy, as these purveyors of ‘classic future pop’ show us how it’s done!
Supporting are leftfield four-piece Fiction. Having recently completed a successful tour with Klaxons and Warpaint, this collective is stealing plaudits with their strain of ‘anarchic pop’. With a solid stable of singles in their catalogue, they have recorded fiery live sessions for BBC Radio1, BBC 6Music and Xfm. With a penchant for well-executed percussion and disarming harmonies this gang of musically educated rebels deliver every time.
Also on the main-stage are I Am A Camera - easily one of the most exciting things to be happening in today’s electronic music scene. Comprised of Mancunian Francesca, and Londoner Ian; the duo are shaping up to be an irrepressible sonic force. Their mix of Lana Del Ray’s ‘Born To Die’ set them on their way. United by their shared love of Spike Jonze and John Carpenter to HAL from “Space Odyssey:2001” and “60 Minute Makeover”, the band bring their unique style of UK electronica to The Garage.
Keeping the main-room rocking ‘til the small hours will be Princess Julia and The Lovely Jonjo. Gaining recognition in the latter part of the 80s, Princess Julia has become synonymous with the Blitz Kids era of club music. Armed to the teeth with a host of tasty re-edits, she’ll let the turntables do the talking as she raises the temperature to fever pitch.
The Lovely Jonjo has been Djing for 8 years, and started off as part of the team behind London’s legendry indie club Trash. Currently the resident DJ at Punk Wears Prada, Milan; he is very much a stalwart of the international club scene. Refusing to confine himself to a glamorous European lifestyle, he makes regular appearances at London’s Fabric.
The Legends Room - White Heat take over the Loft all night.
Discovery Room - The Fly magazine will be hosting in the bar.
All this for £5? Really? Click here for tickets.

Subsonic has been an integral part of the Subculture website reporting on the best of emerging international talent. SubSonic Live is the live manifestation of the concept and is a welcome addition to the London calendar through 2012. The bi-monthly event showcases emerging international talent and legends across 3 stages.
So, come and be part of it. Fred Perry – Subsonic Live.

J Fresh releases March - April Mixtape

Internationally established radio / club DJ J Fresh releases the March / April edition of his critically acclaimed monthly mixtape series, featuring the hottest new cuts from both sides of the Atlantic.
Previously based in London, Fresh was at the heart of the UK Garage circuit at a time when pirate radio, along with the likes of DJ EZ, Roll Deep and Dizzee Rascal were thriving in the airwaves of the nation’s capital. Over the years, as UK Garage evolved into Grime, Bassline and Funky House and as a lot of the musicians the Garage scene created dropped off; J Freshflourished. He adapted his skills with both turntables and CD Decks, reinvented his game and emerged on the South Coast (predominantly Bournemouth) to cut, chop, mix and scratch the funk out of all things urban.
Fresh is now locked into 2 weekly radio shows on Bournemouth’s leading FM + DAB Station, Fire Radio, having networked his way into interviewing and collaborating with some of the biggest names in world music. No stone has been left unturned, as Fresh has gone in search of fracturing both commercial and underground club nights, so that urban disco discordance rules the roost. He now DJ’s for a wealth of UK artists including  MAC [So Solid Crew], Killa P + Rikodan [Roll Deep] Twin MC’s, TCO and many more, and is the first choice for any urban event held from Brighton to Bournemouth.
On top of his live sets and radio commitments, Fresh releases monthly free download mixtapes featuring the best new music from the urban / electronic music world, along with exclusive interviews from some of the biggest artists in the game. His latest mixtape release is available now, and features new cuts from the likes of Nas, Popcaan, Benny Banks, Wiley, 50 Cent and Tyga, as well as an exclusive interview with UK rap virtuoso Sway, who discusses his latest chart success, the background behind his current smash ‘Level Up’ and how he came to work with dubstep producer Flux Pavillion.
