Scorcher ft Wretch 32 and Mercston release Work Get It

Scorcher ft Wretch 32 Mercston Work Get It

Scorcher ft Wretch 32 and Mercston release Work Get It

Scorcher, one of the UK’s leading Grime emcees and award-winning producers, has unveiled his new track ‘Work Get It’ featuring Wretch 32 and Mercston.
Produced by Toby Shy Boy, (younger brother of Maestro The Baker who produced Rihanna's ‘What Now’ and Krept and Konan’s ‘The Other Side’), ‘Work Get It’ is the first single from Scorcher’s forthcoming EP; the latest release since his third edition of the ‘Simply The Best’ mixtape collection.

‘Work Get It’, premiered by tastemaker DJ, Mistajam, hears The Movement MCs collaborate to create some musical motivation with singer Ari on the hook, and if the last few years are anything to go by then there’s no mistaking as to where the inspiration for the track came from. Tayo ‘Scorcher’ Jarrett has definitely been putting the work in and getting the rewards; from his unforgettable time on TV screen as Kamale in Channel 4’s Top Boy, to being nominated for a MOBO Award, supporting the likes of Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg on tour and performing at festivals across the country.
Scorcher said of his upcoming 9-track EP:

"I'm trying to make music people can live with - more than just music for the club, radio or car. I'm trying to bring people into my world and be a part of it, like IMAX."

‘Work Get It’ will be released on June 22 as part of his brand new E.P.

Culture Clash Highlight Video and Content

Home grown grime collective Boy Better Know smashed the decibel metre during last night’s Red Bull Culture Clash at London’s Wembley Arena to be crowned 2012 champion by hosts Tim Westwood and Gemma Cairney. The sound of London’s streets was victorious, beating loud and heavy competition from Major Lazer, Annie Mac Presents Magnetic Man and Channel One.

The 12 strong crew including JME, Shorty, Wiley and Skepta brought out special guests Lethal Bizzle and Chip in the final round to see off their competition with specially recorded dubplates and freestyles in front of over 7,000 music fans.

The four competing crews pulled out all the stops last night. Global megastar Usher jumped on a plane as soon as he’d cast his vote in the US presidential election to join genre-defying super-producer Diplo for a once in a lifetime reggae remix of his number one record, Climax. Rita Ora travelled across the city on a motorbike to make a special performance, arriving on stage complete with biker leathers and crash helmet. Unannounced special guests Katy B and Example performed on the Annie Mac and Magnetic Man stage. Channel One spun a full vinyl set of analogue sounds in digital times. Hosts Westwood and Cairney calmed the crews and crowds as the tension rose and the drama stepped up with Major Lazer bringing their unique energy from Round 1, Annie Mac mocking Diplo’s Blackberry commercial and Boy Better Know delivering killer speeches to their rivals.

With over 100 artists performing across the night, a host of celebrity fans turned out to watch the battle unfold, including BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw, Maverick Sabre, Wretch 32 and Yasmin.

Last night’s Red Bull Culture Clash was the first time Wembley Arena had hosted four stages at one event. 270 speakers, 9 mixing desks, 14 CDJ mixers and 15 miles of cable were brought in to ensure this was the heaviest party ever held within the arena’s walls.

Each crew spent months preparing for the bass-driven warfare, carefully selecting their weapons of choice and recording custom-made dubplate specials. The four-round battle saw each soundsystem given a limited time to win over the crowd with heavy hit after heavy hit.

Red Bull Culture Clash was the third event of its kind to take place in the UK, the first forming part of London’s Red Bull Music Academy festival in 2010. Earlier events took place at Camden’s Roundhouse in March and October 2010 respectively. The event started with a warm-up set at 7pm with the four rounds of the Culture Clash starting from 8pm.

J Fresh releases March - April Mixtape

Internationally established radio / club DJ J Fresh releases the March / April edition of his critically acclaimed monthly mixtape series, featuring the hottest new cuts from both sides of the Atlantic.
Previously based in London, Fresh was at the heart of the UK Garage circuit at a time when pirate radio, along with the likes of DJ EZ, Roll Deep and Dizzee Rascal were thriving in the airwaves of the nation’s capital. Over the years, as UK Garage evolved into Grime, Bassline and Funky House and as a lot of the musicians the Garage scene created dropped off; J Freshflourished. He adapted his skills with both turntables and CD Decks, reinvented his game and emerged on the South Coast (predominantly Bournemouth) to cut, chop, mix and scratch the funk out of all things urban.
Fresh is now locked into 2 weekly radio shows on Bournemouth’s leading FM + DAB Station, Fire Radio, having networked his way into interviewing and collaborating with some of the biggest names in world music. No stone has been left unturned, as Fresh has gone in search of fracturing both commercial and underground club nights, so that urban disco discordance rules the roost. He now DJ’s for a wealth of UK artists including  MAC [So Solid Crew], Killa P + Rikodan [Roll Deep] Twin MC’s, TCO and many more, and is the first choice for any urban event held from Brighton to Bournemouth.
On top of his live sets and radio commitments, Fresh releases monthly free download mixtapes featuring the best new music from the urban / electronic music world, along with exclusive interviews from some of the biggest artists in the game. His latest mixtape release is available now, and features new cuts from the likes of Nas, Popcaan, Benny Banks, Wiley, 50 Cent and Tyga, as well as an exclusive interview with UK rap virtuoso Sway, who discusses his latest chart success, the background behind his current smash ‘Level Up’ and how he came to work with dubstep producer Flux Pavillion.

Mindz releases Recorded Delivery

Nottingham based recording artist Mindz stamps his name firmly on the map with 'Recorded Delivery' - a 20 track deep mixtape featuring a selection of hip hop / grime anthems.

Known for many underground features including the urban myth collaboration album entitled 'The Middle East Collection' (alongside Leicester based artist and producer A-Bomb of Yard 26 Recordings), and various features with Trans-Atlantic producer Endemic and local artist J.Gold, Mindz is fast becoming an established name in the East Midlands hip hop scene. Combining lyrical real life verses with hard hitting drums and both acoustic and electronic soundscapes, Mindz crafts pure narratives from the heart of Britain's inner city streets.

Now with his sights firmly set on the world stage, Mindz has emerged from beneath the surface with his new solo début 'Recorded Delivery'. Championed by Nottingham's BBC 1Xtra playlisted artist / Charlie Sloth's Fire-In-The-Booth star Micky Grim as "the best unofficial album / mixtape out so far this year", 'Recorded Delivery' sees Mindz dispatch a barrage of savvy wordplay and powerfully sagacious lyricism. Featuring production from the likes of Beat Butcha (Mobb Deep, Mac Miller, Xzibit), Kimbo Hareez (D12, St Laz) and Wizard (Verb-T, Ramson Badbonez, Taskforce), the mixtape flits effortlessly between hip hop and grime, with hints of dubstep, dance and soul thrown in for good measure. From the sample driven dusty rhythms of 'Up In Flames', to the arpeggiated trance-esque melodies of 'So High', underground purists will find as much enjoyment in 'Recorded Delivery' as the more casual listener, making 'Recorded Delivery' one of the hottest, and most musically interesting debuts you will have heard in a very long time.

RD returns with his brand new smash single 'Chasing Elizabeth'.

RD returns with his brand new smash single Chasing Elizabeth

21 year old rapper RD returns to the scene with his brand new smash single titled 'Chasing Elizabeth'.
Born and raised in Barking (London, UK), RD took his first steps into the grime scene at just 13, performing at youth clubs and pirate stations from Dagenham to Hackney with his cousins S-Kid and Haystee. In 2006 RD met East London MC Jammin, and the pair went on to form UK collective Conspiracy Theory alongside fellow artist Imz. The collective then went on to become Nationality, and it was around this time that RD decided to take a step away from the industry to further craft his sound away from the limelight.
Fast forward to 2011, and RD is now set to return to the forefront of the scene with his brand new single titled 'Chasing Elizabeth'. The track sees RD outline his mission in life to chase the Queens Head (money) over a fidgety, synth led instrumental. Despite his young age, RD relies on his experience to craft an assertively strong flow whilst delivering some pleasingly epigrammatic punchlines for good measure.

SAS ft Chipmunk and Cire - Ready

Please consider this for placement on your Blog or Website
The saying “Good things come in threes” seems to be literally applied to trailblazing SAS who has recently found themselves teaming up with chart heavy weight Chipmunk and Cire (Formally known as Eric B) to produce their new anthem ‘Ready’. The north London based stars created ‘Ready’ with producer SX who has previously worked with Wretch 32, Chipmunk and Skepta.
Supported by Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood, Radio 1 Xtra’s Ace and Vis and Kiss FM’s Manny Norte, SAS released their mixtape ‘Galaxy Fly’ last year early November which helped them reach a wider audience after featuring artists from all over the world including Chiddy Of Chiddy Bang, Cam’ron of Dip’set, MI, and Corte Ellis (a singer/songwriter whom has written songs for the likes of Britney Spears and BeyoncĂ©.).

SAS have also been co-sign by Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and Busta Rhymes and after being played on Hot 97 in the states it helped them to develop their affiliation with US artists, they soon went on to opening up shows for Kanye West and Juelz Santana.

With Chipmunk displaying his ‘transition’ after the release of his top ten softmore album and Cire who wrote Chris Brown’s contribution to Chipmunk’s number two single ‘Champion’ as well as writing for JLS, it was only right that they teamed up with the ‘never seen, occasionally mentioned and internationally known’ SAS.

Rax - Sweet Chin Music

20 year old London based rapper Rax launches part 4 of the ‘The Black Crook Project’ with a simple yet typically outstanding Grime spray out over Teddy Music’s Wood Street instrumental. Based around Charles M. Barras' 1866 musical 'The Black Crook', Rax’s current project sees the unique wordsmith release 1 new video every 2 weeks for 6 months.
Rax honed his microphone skills from the age of 15, before signing with fast rising musical enterprise Clear Cut Entertainment / Audio Surveillance Records. The charismatic emcee then released his first solo long player titled 'The Auditions' in 2009. The mixtape went on to receive over 1000 downloads within the first few days of its release, with hard copies of the project proving equally as popular on the streets of London. Rax then released several viral videos (including his unforgettable 'I Wanna Rock' remix which clocked up over 30,000 views on YouTube), before putting plans in motion for his most ambitious project to date - #TBCP.
The first three videos from TBCP have clocked up over 60,000 views on YouTube collectively, whilst Rax is receiving outstanding industry recognition from the press, DJs and fans alike.
The fourth release from the project sees Rax switch from the relaxed Hip Hop tones we’ve previously heard for a more combative Grime delivery, illustrating both vocal and lyrical diversity. Featuring Teddy Music’s classic Wood Street instrumental, the video is a no frills demonstration of pure talent – just Rax, a couple of cameras and two minutes of original, head nod inducing lyricism.
