V Festival 2015 announces dedicated dance tent

This year V Festival 2015, sponsored by Virgin Media, has added a dedicated dance tent that will host a world-class line-up of the freshest DJ talent.

The Dance Tent will be the ultimate destination for dance music heads at the festival and will build on the previous dance music offering, replacing the Futures stage.

Oliver Heldens and Hannah Wants will take the headlining spots over the weekend, accompanied by UK garage sensation DJ EZ, BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s Mistajam and Monki, My Nu Leng, Alex Adair, Sam Feldt, Philip George, Toddla T, Goldie, Moxie and Marvin Humes presents Luvbug.

Taking place across the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd August 2015, across the two festival sites in Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire the festival will welcome further dance acts and DJs such as Clean Bandit, Duke Dumont, Nero, Annie Mac and Andy C across its four stages.

The dance acts will be joining headliners Calvin Harris and Kasabian and the rest of the line-up which includes: Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, The Script, Hozier, George Ezra, Stereophonics, Paloma Faith, James Bay, Olly Murs, Chvrches, Imelda May, Kodaline, Ella Henderson, Nero, Reverend and the Makers, The Courteeners, Marina and The Diamonds, The Proclaimers, Tom Jones, Jess Glynne, Andy C, The Kooks, Gregory Porter, Fuse ODG, Clean Bandit, Duke Dumont, Jessie Ware, Ella Eyre, Hannah Wants, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and Annie Mac.

W.A.R! Ibiza/Mallorca - Opening Parties announced

Last summer W.A.R! introduced an incredible mix of the most influential and exciting names in electronic music to the famous outdoor Rocks stage.  Back for round two, W.A.R! will once again bring together an eclectic mix of electronic acts to showcase a diverse range of Bass and House. Joining the line up are Zane Lowe, Mistajam, Baauer, Ms Dynamite, Shadowchild and Doorly.  

The newly announced acts join an already incredible line up that includes an exclusive W.A.R! residency with Example + DJ Wire plus four Rinse FM events with TNGHT, Katy B, So Solid Crew, Skepta and Oneman.

First up for the W.A.R! Opening Party at the Mallorca Rocks Hotel on Thursday 6th June are Mistajam, Baauer and Ms Dynamite. Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s Mistajam is widely praised for bridging the gap between the mainstream and specialist worlds, - a man on the same mission as W.A.R!  With his 1Xtra show hailed as ‘the key to the underground’ Mistajam will bring the freshest sounds in UK Bass and House music to the open-air, poolside stage at the Rocks Hotel.

Hailing from Philadelphia, DJ and Producer Baauer is in BIG demand right now.  As well as producing remixes for the likes of Nero and The Prodigy, Baauer’s own masterpieces have really made this man stand out.  Criticallly acclaimed single Harlem Shake caused a massive viral explosion resulting in thousands of youtube uploads per day and a subsequent No.1 US single. Now collaborating with hip-hop superproducer Just Blaze on the massive track Higher, the pair has just completed a joint tour. It will be a big night when Baauer hits up the Balearics for his debut at the W.A.R!  Opening Parties in June.

The UK’s very own Ms Dynamite will also take to the stage for this special show, bringing with her fresh material as well as all the huge hits that made her one of the most influential, successful and award winning British solo artists of the last decade. Her Mercury Music Prize was followed by BRIT and MOBO awards and Ms Dynamite was held up as an ambassador for a British riposte to US R&B. Now collaborating with younger stars like Labrinth on well-received singles and with an album lined up for next years, Ms Dynamite is back by popular demand following her electric live sets at W.A.R! last year.

Taking the helm for the W.A.R! Opening Party at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel is master of new music and long-term friend and champion of Ibiza Rocks, Zane Lowe.  Together with his partner in crime Mark Ronson, Zane was a huge driving force behind the launch of W.A.R! last year and is coming back to kick off another sun-soaked, electric summer.   Baauer will also be Ibiza bound for this special show, which includes the return of Rocks very own resident DJ turned global sensation Doorly.

Mistajam, Ms Dynamite and Doorly return to Ibiza on 28th June and will be joined by Shadow Child. Making his debut via the mighty Dirtybird early in 2012, mostly thanks to the EP's lead track String Thing dominating Eats Everything' and Claude Vonstroke's DJ sets the world over. This new alias for one of House music's already known names is on an exciting path, paved with underground bass-led grooves and all the quirks and depth that will fill the floor at W.A.R! this summer.

With a strong focus on supporting big headline acts as well as the freshest up and coming talent, the W.A.R! bill will keep building  - watch this space.

Sway returns in style with his brilliant new single ‘Level Up’ on 2nd April through 3

Beat Records. The track was Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record In The World yesterday as

well as getting the seal of approval from MistaJam.

Never one to conform to the norm, Sway constantly looks for ways to stand out from

the crowd and he will have heads and ears turning with his latest offering. Combining

Flux Pavilion’s speaker-oscillating dubstep production with Sway’s signature lyrical

word-play and newcomer Kelsey McHugh’s soulful vocals on the hook, ‘Level Up’

brings a unique sonic to the table.

“The song is about winning, elevation, going from one stage in your life to a better

one,” explains Sway. “I wanted to the capture that moment and that feeling we get

when we feel like we've achieved something that will change your life.”

The collaboration with Flux Pavillion came about when Sway was introduced to the

producer’s music by 1Xtra’s Semtex. Making contact with the producer via Facebook,

Sway discovered Flux was a fan and within weeks the pair were working in the studio

together.

Sway ended 2011on a high. His single ‘Still Speedin’ became his biggest hit to date

charting in the top 20 in the middle of the Christmas chart battles. It was an incredible

achievement for Sway. ‘Still Speedin’ also became Sway’s biggest radio record to

date making playlists across the country.

The anthemic nature of the single made it a favourite for soundbeds on TV shows

from Soccer AM to the Grand Prix and even BBC One’s light entertainment show,

Winter Wipeout. “It’s taken a while to get this overall acclaim but it just goes to show

that persistence is always the way forward,” says Sway.

Sway is currently putting the finishing touches to his album ‘Deliverance.’ It will be

released later this year and comes 6 years since his debut, the Mercury Music Prize

nominated ‘This Is My Demo.’
