Madhat Mcgore & Jimmy Snookz feat Skipper Heart On My Sleeve Video

Edinburgh based rapper Madhat Mcgore teams up with North London native Jimmy Snooks for their biggest release to date - a ten track LP fittingly titled 'City 2 City'.

Recorded in just two days and featuring the likes of Eurogang member Villain, Maffiella & Queen Ice Cream aka The Diva Twins, fellow Mudfam Regime members Skipper & Melody Melz, Fedayeen Regime member D Millz, Rago from ITN and Madhat’s fellow scot The Riddlah, the highly anticipated long player displays sharp, intelligent wordplay from two of the UK's most revered underground rhymers. Accompanied by an equally impressive and brilliantly varied backdrop of hiphop-grime-dance infused instrumentals, 'City 2 City' takes the listener on a journey through what is the audio equivalent of a smog filled inner city landscape.

25 year old Edinburgh born Madhat has been writing and producing music for the past 11 years. His debut LP 'Unvarnished Scribbles' received vast critical acclaim, with The Daily Record newspaper hailing the release as "a massive landmark album for Scottish Rap". Following the release of the LP, Madhat decided to leave his record label and began talks with Edinburgh based imprint Music Comes First Records. A contract was swiftly signed, and Madhat continued to raise his profile with the release of several EPs and 'The Theophilus Carter LP', which featured the likes of UK heavyweights Nolay and Klashnekoff. These subsequent releases attracted the attention of Vic Galloway at BBC Radio 1 Scotland, who invited Madhat to the studio for a live session, and paved the way for further strong reviews from the press; “anything Dizzee can do, Madhat can do”, “think Eminem meets Begbie from Trainspotting” and “Scotlands top rapper, no question” being some of the most memorable quotes.
With his latest project, Madhat has delivered his most rounded sounded to date, and teaming up with Mudfam lyricist Jimmy Snooks may ultimately prove to be an accidental stroke of genius. The relentless delivery of perfectly formed vocals, along with the combination of powerful, multicultural accents makes 'City 2 City' a slice of bass heavy, head nod inducing hip hop pie, and one which you won't want to share around.

We are currently pushing the third single from the LP titled 'Heart On My Sleeve'.
