Ariana and The Rose will debut her sound this Autumn for a UK audience that is already eager to hear her material. After being declared on The Guardian podcast by Paul Lester as “somewhere between Barbara Streisand and Lady Gaga”, the native New Yorker will be found sitting front row at New York, London and Paris Fashion Week shows as she promotes her debut single ‘Heartbeat’.

After working with famed producer David Kahne (Lana Del Ray, New Order) on her fledgling EP last year, the young songstress has developed her sound further with her latest offering, creating unimpeachable machine-beat pop, with a chorus and a hummable refrain so memorable that Heartbeat stays with its listeners long after listening.

Throughout 2012, Ariana and the Rose performed prolifically across the States in such legendary venues as the Whiskey A Go Go in LA and the Gramercy Theater in New York: at the latter she played the after-party for Lady Gaga's “Born This Way Ball”. Now, Ariana is set to unleash her new sound and is already tipped for big things – with Music Week snapping her up for their breakout show in London this September.

Whilst not shying away from her unmistakable pop sound, Ariana’s crossover appeal is clear to see, with remixes of her debut already being offered up by names including Jodi Harsh and Shapeshifters amongst others.

It’s sophisticated pop,” she decides. “I’m creating something mainstream that doesn’t dumb down, that gives the audience credit for being smart. It comes down to loving melody and the way melody flows through an arrangement: pop music that comes from an orchestral point of view.

Above all else, hers is music with mainstream appeal and commercial ambition that refuses to pander to market trends. It is personal and idiosyncratic, with a tendency to experiment, while also remaining intensely accessible. In a word: pop. Ariana and The Rose are the acceptable face of the genre.

“Pop shouldn’t be a guilty pleasure. It’s time,” she says, “for pop girls to be cool again.”

You can catch Ariana & The Rose performing live in London at the following venues:
Friday 13th September                   Paper Dress Vintage, Shoreditch
Wednesday 18th September       Music Week Breakout, Islington
Saturday 21st September              Queen of Hoxton, Shoreditch

Heartbeat will be available to download from 6th October 2013
