SLIDE FESTIVAL 2010 @ Barfly Liverpool

Slide Festival is a brand new indoor festival that was launched by Kong Live Events in 2010! The event promotes fresh new talent and there was an abundance of that at this event.

Hosted in the Barfly/Masque venue the event saw 3 stages and over 45 bands which totalled 11 hours of music so plenty to see and hear and the range of genres was immense. From ska/punk through to indie/rock the Slide Festival has enough to cater for every taste. Also the range of Age’s at the event was something we had not experienced in a while and was good to see people from 14 to 60 enjoying the day and a great atmosphere throughout.

Obviously the level of experience within the line up of bands varied and you could divide the groups easily but this was not to say that every band didn’t bring a level of professionalism and enthusiasm to the day because they did.. and then some.

It’s good to see something like this back in Liverpool. Something that can showcase the talent that thrives in the city and too often than not is stifled or held back artistically either through the musicians not being able to show off their skills or no venue willing to take the chance on unknown and young bands, so we hope that Slide continues to prosper and we at MusicMafiaUK will continue to promote it
