Propaganda announce 9 date UK tour with The View

Propaganda is thrilled to announce an extensive tour with one of the UK’s most compelling rock bands, The View. These will be some of the most exciting nights yet at Propaganda.

After making a glorious return with last year’s Top 10 album ‘Cheeky For A Reason’, which received numerous glowing reviews – some of the best of the band’s career so far - and also saw them winning Best Album 2012 at the Sunday Mail’s Great Scotland Awards and Album of the Year 2012 at The Scottish Music Awards, The View have compiled some of their finest moments to date on the ‘Seven Year Setlist’ album which will be released on June 17th on Cooking Vinyl. The release of the album comes just days before they support the legendary Stone Roses in front of 50,000 people at Glasgow Green on June 15th.

"Over the years there's been four studio albums, thousands of gigs, too much vodka and loads of memories on this crazy rock n' roll journey,” says vocalist / guitarist Kyle Falconer. “So we wanted to create an album that was kinda like stopping and looking back over the years - with a few new tracks too. That’s the Seven Year Setlist."

Seven Year Setlist’ spans The View’s journey to date from ‘Face For The Radio’ which originally featured on their self-titled debut EP which was released in 2006 up to the present day with two new songs in the shape of ‘Dirty Magazine’ and ‘Kill Kyle’. Along the way, it visits the #3 hit ‘Same Jeans’, ‘Wasted Little DJs’ which won Best Track at the NME Awards, another Top 15 hit with ‘Superstar Tradesman’, a Dirty Version of the ‘Which Bitch?’ album highlight ‘Shock Horror’ and ‘How Long’, the first single and opening track from ‘Cheeky For A Reason’ which was accompanied by a video starring Red Road / A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints actor Martin Compston.

The new material on the album reunites the band with Owen Morris (Oasis, The Verve) who produced their Mercury Prize-nominated, #1 album ‘Hats Off To The Buskers’. The majority of the songs on the album were written by Falconer and bassist Kieren Webster, and features further production courtesy of Mike Crossey (Artic Monkeys, Foals) and Youth (Primal Screan)

The View – completed by guitarist Pete Reilly and drummer Steven Morrison – recently completed their first full North American coast-to-coast tour which included a sold-out show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, a date at famous Los Angeles venue The Troubadour and a set at SXSW.

Formed in Dundee in 2005 by four former school friends, The View have hit the charts with all four of their albums – ‘Hats Off To The Buskers’ (#1), ‘Which Bitch?’ (#3), ‘Bread and Circuses’ (#14) and ‘Cheeky For A Reason’ (#9) – accumulated over 3.5 million views at YouTube and have excelled at numerous major festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, T in the Park and One Big Weekend. Highlights of their recent tours include headlining to almost 7000 people over three Scottish shows split between Dundee’s Caird Hall and Glasgow’s Barrowlands, as well as a raucous set at Rockness which was abandoned due to safety fears and upgraded to a bigger tent due to the phenomenal turnout from fans.

Propaganda takes up residence in Es Paradis Ibiza

Propaganda Ibiza

Propaganda takes up residence in Es Paradis Ibiza

IT’S BYE BYE BOSSA, HELLO SAN ANTONIO for global indie brand PROPAGANDA, who announced the news this weekend that, as of immediately, the brand will continue their summer residence in Es Paradis, San Antonio after beginning their season in Playa den Bossa.

The changes have been made by the clubnight’s director Dan Ickowitz-Seidler, due to demand from the Propaganda public in San Antonio. "Over the last few weeks an astonishing number of people have asked why Propaganda is not in San Antonio, so we decided to listen to the overwhelming public demand and bring Propaganda to the world famous Es Paradis”, affirmed Dan, also known as DJ Dan, resident at the global indie alternative clubnight, which throws weekly parties up and down the UK as well as Ireland and Australasia.

As the Propaganda Ibiza team turn their attention to their Opening Party at Es Paradis on Thursday 26th July, Guest DJs at the first Propaganda @ Paradis have already been confirmed as BBC Radio 1’s Nick ‘Grimmy’ Grimshaw and Mat Horne (Gavin&Stacey). Grimshaw was recently named as the new host of the Radio 1 breakfast show, taking over the coveted breakfast slot from Chris Moyles.

For Mat Horne, it’s a second appearance at Propaganda Ibiza this summer; the British actor, star of Gavin and Stacey (which, as an aside, is rumoured to be filming a special episode in Spain very soon) opened the Propaganda summer season on 8th July. This time round, and it’s the world famous Es Paradis he’ll be declaring his state of indie-pendence.

Dan said he was “thrilled to have Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw launching the night, this will be his first DJ set since it was announced that he will be replacing Chris Moyles on the Radio 1 breakfast show which is incredible for him and it's an honour to have him play for us at Propaganda along with Mat Horne and myself at our first night at Es Paradis.”

As for 2nd August, it’s another luxury line up with the Prodigy’s Rob Holliday and The Enemy taking to the indie decks for the audiovisual experience that Propaganda is renowned for.

Each week the Propaganda residents will be joined by the following incredible guest DJs including Nick Grimshaw (Radio 1 & T4), Greg James (Radio 1), Snow Patrol, The Prodigy's Rob Holliday, Carl Barat (The Libertines), Mat Horne (Gavin and Stacey), Huw Stephens (Radio 1), DJ Dan (Oasis aftershow DJ), The Enemy, The Postman (Ramshackle) with more surprises thrown in along the way

Propaganda is an indie club phenomenon, with over 25,000 people attending its club nights every week across the world! Propaganda has over 20 nights in England as well as a weekly night in Sydney, Australia, Dublin & New Zealand. This summer Propaganda takes its audio-visual extravaganza to Ibiza for the islands biggest weekly indie party at Es Paradis every Thursday!

Propaganda indie night in Ibiza - 8th June - 9th September

Propaganda indie night in Ibiza

Propaganda indie night in Ibiza - 8th June - 9th September

YUP, you heard right. The UK’s biggest Indie
clubnight has confirmed its summer residency at Sankeys Ibiza in Platja den Bossa.

Although no strangers to the island, having first brought the Indie brand to Ibiza
Rocks in 2009, this season in 2012 in Ibiza sees Propaganda take up their first island
residency, firmly installing themselves for ten weeks in Playa den Bossa’s latest
success story - Sankeys Ibiza, and cranking up the Indie Machine for their first event
on Sunday 8th July right through to 9th September.

Having well and truly staked their claim on the UK club scene and having pioneered
the concept of rockstar as DJ to the nation over the last years, the Indie brand now
has a presence in twenty-two cities around Britain with some 25,0000 clubbers
getting their indie on, up and down the country, on a weekly basis. That’s not to
mention their clubnights in Ireland and Australia…

And now,it’s Spain’s turn. Or rather, Ibiza’s turn. The past few years on the White
Island have seen a myriad of musical changes take place, and- thank God- it’s no
longer all about electronica. Live music, rock music, Indie music, any music; for the
times they are a changin’ - and very welcome changes they are, too…

These changes are something that Propaganda’s founder/Resident DJ Dan knows
plenty about, his winning formula to bring the rockstar off the stage and behind the
decks putting a whole new slant on the word ‘live’. Propaganda’s line ups are already
much applauded for their contemporary Indie musicians but also for the nation’s
rising stars of Radio 1, not to mention the World of TV and Culture, presenting each of
them in another facet, that of DJ.

This summer then, the Propaganda Team will be bringing a host of bands and DJs
over to the White Isle for a summer of upfront tunes and indie classics, bringing a
stellar cast to Ibiza every Sunday night. From Carl Barat to Snow Patrol, The Enemy
to Gavin & Stacey’s Mat Horne, Radio 1’s Greg James and Huw Stephens, all these
and more will be stepping up at Sankeys this summer and helping to really change that tune.

As for Dan himself, amongst his many other merits, of which there are many, he
has toured as aftershow DJ for Oasis, has played in venues including Wembley
Stadium and Cardiff Millenium Stadium, at events such as the Brit Awards and in the
presence of artists including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lilt Allen, Courtney Love, Muse,
The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Aerosmith and at festivals such as Reading, V Festival,
Oxegen, Bestival, Snowbombing and The Big Chill.

On his brand’s upcoming ten week Ibeefa season, Dan the Man had this to say, “I
am really excited to be taking Propaganda to Ibiza weekly for the first time, not only
are we bringing our indie club phenomenon to the Island but we're also bringing our
concept of affordable clubbing to the Island with a big guest DJ each week including
Radio 1's Greg James and Snow Patrol. I'll also be DJing at a lot of the nights
myself and I can not wait to get back to Ibiza as I've always loved it".

Ibiza loves you too, Dan... And as of right now, it loves Propaganda even more…with
club entry at only €15, complete with drinks prices at €7 spirit & mixer and €7 beer,
as Dan says, that’s “an exceptional night out at an affordable price which is so
important to people at the moment”.

Now, that’s what I’d call PROPAGANDA… Indie..Sundays..Sankeys..Bossa..Ibiza
