APB release their brand new album Egos and Expectations

Toronto hip hop duo, APB (The Airplane Boys) announce the release of their brand new record ‘Egos and Expectations’ - OUT NOW via the Beau Monde Collective.

Toronto is known as a melting pot for many cultures, so we wanted to be as diverse and use as many colours as possible with our soundscape” - the melodies on ‘Egos and Expectations’ are stencilled by 90s Pop/R&B and the bass lines bounce with the funk and grooves they grew up on.  The storytelling takes the driver’s seat with smooth, rhythmic wordplay that draws from their real life experiences balancing “Love in relationships with others, as well as the music industry, but more importantly our love for ourselves.”

APB have had the opportunity to spread their creative movement around the world, traveling through the US, Canada, UK and all over Asia; whilst the whole time recording new music and shooting new videos. They thrive on the excitement and creativity of the ‘Information Age’ that we live in, crafting a very specific place for themselves in the current musical landscape whilst pushing boundaries constantly and working to provide fans with stimulating and fresh content wherever possible. They’ve managed to accomplish this right from their inception in 2011 and continue to do so on their new record ‘Egos and Expectations’, with the videos for new tracks Some Say and Harvest already showing that they’ve not only taken steps forward with their new music but giant leaps in both sound and concept.

Having already received critical acclaim from the likes of Billboard, Complex, Hypebeast, VICE, XXL, Vibe and MTV, their next step is to bring their raw rebellious sound to Europe. Raising the bar musically, creatively and within the worlds of art, fashion and design, APB is looking to establish themselves as the new creative class.

‘Egos and Expectations’ is available now via free stream and download at TheAirplaneBoys.com

APB will be holding an ‘Egos and Expectations' record release show at Toronto's Virgin Mobile Mod Club on Sunday, July 20th. More details to be announced soon.

Bravestation drop new track 'Signs of the Civilized' - Free Download

Toronto “compelling experimental Pop” act Bravestation have just dropped a free download of brand new track ‘Signs of the Civilized’. After almost a year in the wilderness, both figuratively and literally speaking if their video for ‘White Wolves’ is any thing to go by, ‘Signs of the Civilized’ is the first track from their upcoming debut full-length, scheduled for a summer release.

The track looks set to build upon the success of their self-produced, self-released 2010 EP, which attracted considerable critical acclaim and facilitated a tour of the UK amongst other things. Here’s what people have been saying about ‘Signs of the Civilized’ so far:

“If you've been hungry for this four piece, their new single "Signs of the Civilized" should further salivate your senses…there is a retro flare complimenting Devin's beguiling voice.” – Earmilk
“I’m psyched… these new musical instrumentations and influence are doing it for me, totally into it.” – Indie Music Filter

"The song has a tropical/futuristic vibe. Excited to hear the rest of the full length." - Friends With Both Arms

“Bravestation's new material appears to be something special, music that's rather transcendental with its evocative, and seductive, tones.” – Mixtape Muse

The track can be heard at their Bandcamp page - http://bravestation.bandcamp.com/

Noel Gallagher: 'I'll never recover from Toronto Oasis gig assault'

Noel Gallagher has delivered a witness statement to a Toronto court saying that he has been told he will "never really recover" from the injuries he received in the city in September 2008.

The guitarist was attacked by crowd member Daniel Sullivan at the V Festival in the Canadian city while performing with Oasis there. He suffered three cracked ribs.

Now according to The Sun, Gallagher's witness statement has been read out in court in the country's capital after Sullivan plead guilty to the charge of assault.

"I would describe the impact and shock as feeling as if I had been hit by a bus," Gallagher's statement read. "I ended up in a heap. I have been told that I will never really recover from the damage, and still feel painful twinges."

The statement continued, "The emotional impact it had was essentially coping with the pressure to perform so as not to let the band down. For a considerable period I was operating at 50 per cent of my capabilities."

Oasis had to cancel a series of gigs because of the injuries. Sullivan is set to be sentenced next month.
