Eavis said his daughter – and Glastonbury co-organiser – Emily came up the with idea of booking the rapper, although he hasn't been confirmed to play yet, reports The Sun.
"She's a bright girl and she is very keen on Snoop Dogg doing the show, so we want him," Michael Eavis said.
He added that it was also his daughter's decision to book Jay-Z for Glastonbury in 2008, a move that was criticised at the time by Noel Gallagher.
"Her real claim to fame is booking Jay-Z," he said. "She came up with the idea, so I phoned his manager. At the end of a 40-minute chat he said Jay-Z would do the show, and the rest is history."
In other Glastonbury news, Orbital have confirmed themselves for the June 25-27 bash, saying they will headline The Other Stage on the Sunday night (27) of the festival. Empire Of The Sun, Vampire Weekend and Hot Chip are also set to play.
U2, Muse and Stevie Wonder headline this year's Glastonbury.
Earlier this month (March 5) it was ruled that immigration officials were wrong to deny Snoop Dogg a visa to enter the UK in 2008. The path is now potentially open for him to gain a visa to allow him to play gigs in the country.
