Nominated for Best British Newcomer at 2011 Kerrang Awards
Following the success of their first three singles, Midlands four piece Octane OK are set to release an EP – “So Alive”, in August 2011, as a precursor to a full UK headline tour.
Formed in late 2008, the band have spent 2009 and 2010 getting in the van, travelling the country and honing their live show playing with the likes of My Passion, Kill Hannah and Sugarcult. Their reputation as a live act is such that their Feb 2011 homecoming show at Birmingham O2 Academy was a 600 sell out…
The “So Alive” EP brings together new tracks “The One” and “Pretty Lady” with previous singles “Fly Again” and “Curtain Call”. The EP will also feature an acoustic track “Parties Over”. Lead track “The One” the perfect showcase for the Octane Ok sounds – driving rhythms and punchy high energy guitars overlaid with a truly infectious vocal. The bands material is produced by Romesh Dodangoda at Longwave (Lostprophets, Kids in Glass houses, Attack Attack, The Blackout, Funeral for a friend & Motörhead).
Previous singles “Fly Again” and “”Curtain Call” were both widely picked up by both radio and TV. In addition to numerous plays across XFM and Kerrang radio, the video reached No 8 on Kerrang TV Most Wanted, Scuzz TV's top favourite on their bangin Rock Video's section and made the Top Ten on Kerrang & Scuzz TV request charts.
The band are currently writing and recording material for their debut album – due in 2012.
Following a sold out debut headline tour in February 2011, Octane OK are back for another headline run in October/November 2011
