Goldray reveal new video for single Outloud
GOLDRAY, the new psychedelic rock band from REEF guitarist Kenwyn House have unveiled their video to new single ‘Outloud’ which is due for digital release Nov 4.
The track is the debut single taken from the band’s upcoming self-titled mini-LP, for which Goldray have teamed up with fan-driven platform Pledge Music and is released in digital and physical format on November 25.
Recorded at Metropolis, The Granary in Kent, and the band’s home studio in London, Goldray’s self-titled debut features 4 tracks clocking in at 25 minutes and 28 seconds, produced jointly by House, Rasmussen and co produced by Clive Martin – the acclaimed knob-twiddler behind Reef’s huge debut Replenish. Brit Award-winning producer Pedro Ferreira has also added his magic touch to the final mixes.

Goldray formed proper in 2010 when House teamed up with vocalist Leah Rasmussen (Hydrogen, EMI, Bedrock, Renaissance). The two shared a songwriting vision blending psych and prog experimental arrangements resulting in a dynamic that took them towards psychedelic rock: House’s hooks complemented by Rasmussen’s powerful but smooth Kate Bush-esque vocals. Joined by Geoff Laurens (Resistors) on bass and featuring performances by both Andy Treacey (Faithless) and Paul Winter-Hart (Kula Shaker) on drums to complete the rhythm section on this debut, Goldray’s sound has one foot more than firmly planted in the psych rock tradition of the late-sixties and early-seventies.
Of the ethos behind Goldray’s sound and vision, House comments:
““That era is so avoided by most of the media and the musical orthodoxy which is strange considering how powerful that time was for music and culture. Much of what was being said then – freedom, war, environment – is just as relevant, if not more relevant, today. It’s such a rich area to draw on.”
On the decision to team up with Pledge Music for the project, he continues: “Pledge is such a great way to connect fans and artists directly through the music, and we’re excited about having our fans onboard and involved right from the very beginning with Goldray. By Pledging, fans will receive this mini album in a format of their choice, in the knowledge they actually helped make it possible. It also allows us to give something back as a band; to offer unique and exclusive experiences and opportunities such as the chance to play on our full length album next year amongst others.”
The guitarist, who is set to embark on a 20th Anniversary tour of the UK with REEF in November, will end the dates by bringing Goldray to London for an exclusive Mini LP Launch Party on November 26 at The Barfly, London as a celebration of the release and a thank you to fans who get involved via Pledge.
