An exciting partnership with MIXMAG sees Lemonfest’s dance village – made up of the Rinse:It Drum and Bass Arena and Souloud House and Techno tent, re-branded as the Lemonfest DANCE DSTRKT.

Unashamedly epic UK Drum and Bass duo DC Breaks will headline the RINSE:IT stage, the RAM Records pair recently soared into mainstream success with the smash single ‘Faithless’. The New ‘Downtown Arena’ is an interactive area with immersive theatre, artwork and DJs playing funk/soul/disco/60s/70s forms the final part of DANCE DSTRKT. It’s open until late late late and headlined by Raul Pindi’s Disco Vortex.

BBC Introducing again supports the ‘Locally Grown’ stage with live broadcasts and interviews. This stage has become an important factor which has allowed the festival to maintain popularity and cultivate the best local bands. Look out for local ‘filthy-indie-blues’ duo ‘Moriaty’ fresh from releasing their single featuring Chris Wolstenhome of MUSE.

Other attractions include: International food stalls including the Lemonfeast Street Food Market, both of which will compliment a ‘Mini Local Real Ale and Cider Fest’. Plus! Space hopper racing, fairground rides, Kids area and Busking at the Bar Stage.

We also cannot wait to open the doors to our new DOWNTOWN arena, which is going to be epic!”

Beans on Toast unveils video for The Chicken Song

Beans on Toast video The Chicken Song

Beans on Toast unveils video for The Chicken Song

Drunk Folk singer, barefoot troubadour and cult legend Beans on Toast drops his 6th studio album on his 34th Birthday. Newly engaged to muse Lizzy Bee and with his biggest year to date behind him, Beans on Toast is turning his irreverent mind to the more valuable things in life with new album ‘The Grand Scheme of Things’. The release is flanked by a 15 date headline tour (with support from Will Varley), including Beans’ largest London show to date, at Electric Ballroom, December 11.

Released on Xtra Mile Recordings, as is tradition on 1st December the album turns to the more wholesome topics of home cooking, an upcoming honeymoon and a whole lot of loving; a marked change in the man who once was a poster boy for recreational drugs. What hasn’t changed though is Beans on Toast’s unrivalled ability to tell a tale, his no holds barred social commentary and his ability to tackle difficult subjects from an everyday point of view. Here, his thoughts from the last year are honestly regaled through eleven life-affirming and frequently humorous tracks.

In the twelve months that have seen him tour the world, open arenas for Frank Turner and play a jam packed summer of festivals, material has come from his experiences, with American tour dates giving way to ‘Fuck You Nashville’ and love song ‘New Orleans Honeymoon’. Memories of his Camp Bestival main stage performance are captured perfectly with ‘Stinging Nettles’, a song he wrote for children about the great outdoors, and topics like gentrification, chicken farming and world peace all get the Beans musical treatment.

Recorded at London’s Soup Studios, ‘The Grand Scheme of Things’ features and was fittingly produced by Sam Beer, an old family friend who taught Beans on Toast his first song on the guitar over eighteen years ago on a camping holiday in Spain, and who was reunited with Beans on the London music circle ten years later. Together, with the help of friends Bobby Banjo and contributors Will Varley and Brooke Sharkey, this is an album that marks a change but not a complete makeover for everyone’s favourite modern one-man band.

Sean McGowan releases debut single Come Unstuck

Sean McGowan debut single Come Unstuck

Sean McGowan releases debut single Come Unstuck

Southampton-born troubadour Seán McGowan will release his debut, double A-side single Come Unstuck / Swings and Roundabouts on 30th June on Sunday Best Recordings. Produced by Sam ‘Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly’ Duckworth at his Amazing Grace studio in London, these two rambunctious slices of young life display why McGowan has already received props from his peers Billy Bragg and Frank Turner - who sings backing vocals on Come Unstuck.

Raised on a diet of politically charged, punk-ignited artists like The Clash, The Jam, The Specials, and, of course, Billy Bragg, 21-year old McGowan has been playing up and down the country for over two years and has DIY released two EPs (given away / sold on a ‘pay what you want’ basis at shows). One of the buzz artists at last year’s Great Escape festival, an appearance on Bragg’s Left Field stage at Glastonbury saw Sean exposed to his biggest audience yet. He’s also toured and gigged with Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, The Rifles, Beans On Toast and Frank Turner. Expect many more gigs and festival appearances this summer, with a debut album in early 2015.

Sean McGowan live:
19th June              Manchester Gorilla (supporting Felice Bros)

Beans on Toast Announces The Next Album Tour 2014

Drunk folk singer, barefoot troubadour and cult legend Beans on Toast has been around the block more times than he cares to remember. Thankfully though, with his unique blend of simple songs and no holds barred quick wit, he is an act that is anything but tired.

With a fresh spring in his step after an incredible start to the year, which saw him conquer his first American headline tour, play a series of shows with Flogging Molly in the US and perform to over 40,000 people in just one week whilst opening Frank Turner’s UK Arena tour in February, Beans On Toast will be heading back onto the UK live circuit for 16 dates across the country ending with his biggest headline show to date at Electric Ballroom, Camden.

Marking the release of his sixth studio album with Xtra Mile Recordings, as is tradition on his 1st December birthday, ‘The Next Album Tour 2014’ will be an unforgettable experience as the singer, storyteller and guitar player’s self-deprecating nature goes a long way to break down the barriers between musician and audience, creating a real sense of equality.

With digital single ‘Keep You’ added to the XFM Evening Playlist at the start of the year, a ‘Best of Toast Pressed on Vinyl’ flying off the shelves for Independent Record Store Day and his busiest upcoming festival season yet, anything is now possible for this unmissable performer.

Tickets will go on sale Friday 6th May at 9am via www.beansontoastmusic.com
