After their massive European summer hit ‘Canto Del Pilon’ the unstoppable MILK and SUGAR are back with their electrifying new single, ‘Needin U,’ a collaboration with acclaimed singer and house legend Barbara Tucker.

Perfectly built around Barbara´s powerhouse vocals, ‘Needin U’ builds with a massive bass line that’s sure to explode onto airwaves and dance floors alike on its release on October 20th.  

Working together for over a decade, Milk and Sugar have enjoyed success as DJ's, producers and label owners and are now excited to be releasing their first single with house icon Barbara Tucker. Idris Elba presents 7 Wallace this summer at Ibiza Rocks House

Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes is THE playground for the new wave of rock and roll elite hitting up the White Isle.  The 25-room boutique haven is home to the bands and DJ’s playing Ibiza Rocks each week and last summer Idris Elba joined the party and upped the ante with a unique run of parties that saw special guests such as Pete Tong, Gorgon City and Doorly join him week on week to create the most talked about and memorable parties of the summer.  Back for round two, Idris will host an incredible 9 Saturday night House parties from 5th July – 30th August as 7 Wallace presents Idris Elba and Friends at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes.

A second run of parties for one of the world’s most in demand artists is a true testament to Idris Elba’s love of music, his love of Ibiza Rocks House and his love of Ibiza.   The 7 Wallace parties are intimate and understated with no cover charge, just a very cool house party vibe in a uniquely charming venue, full of character, full of individuality and seeped in music history. As the sun goes down, Idris Elba will once again turn up the heat at the House as the Hackney-born, Hollywood ‘A’ lister returns to his roots and to his first love, music.  For 9 weeks, every Saturday from 5th July, Idris Elba will take the reigns and get behind the decks for a special summer residency at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes.

The hotel’s exclusive ‘Freddie’s’ suite, famous for hosting Freddie Mercury’s 41st birthday bash, is devilishly decadent and at the heart of Ibiza after-dark activity for those in the know.  It’s here that Idris Elba will set up home and do his ‘7 Wallace’ thing, bringing together his love of throwing a great party and bringing friends and unannounced names to spin and party alongside him. Expect the unexpected. Anything can happen and anything goes at Ibiza Rocks House. 

He may be best known for his Golden Globe-winning turn in Luther or as Stringer Bell in The Wire, or as Nelson Mandela in the biopic Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, but music is in this man’s heart and seeps through his soul. Freddie Mercury Rocks Ibiza at Ibiza Rocks House

With Ibiza Rockin’ at full tilt right now, and the island zooming towards the middle of August, it’s always good to know that there’s another world away hidden from the usual midsummer night’s madness, a rock n roll refuge right up there in the San Antonio Hills- yup, it’s Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel. The legendary agro-rock hotel of choice is a place with its own special magic which, over the next weeks, hosts a plethora of events that, frankly, deserve a big, shiny medal for their diversity, solidarity and sheer fabulousness. Amongst them, a Pikes personal favourite- FREDDIE ROCKS IBIZA- which is back on Sunday 1 September, raising more funds for The Mercury Phoenix Trust in aid of HIV and AIDS patients.

Back for its third year, this is an event with particularly special significance for all at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel, dedicated to the hotel’s favourite former patron, Queen’s Freddie Mercury. The aim of the party is to not only celebrate what would have been the 67th birthday of the musical legend-in-leotards but also, to raise funds for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the organization set up by the remaining members of Queen after the sad demise of their frontman. The Mercury Phoenix Trust has been raising millions to fight AIDS worldwide and  here at Ibiza Rocks House, we like to add our tuppence worth in honour of the great man whose hedonistic history with Pikes has already gone down in the Ibiza annals.

Due to public demand, this year the fundraiser begins at lunchtime by the Pikes Pool, with Antz and Co in charge of providing the daytime soundtrack for Freddie Rocks Ibiza, setting the mood for the frivolity as the first Freddie Lookie-Likees start pulling up to the sun loungers. Throughout the afternoon and heading into the night, also on the decks, a line up of local and international DJs including the schamazing 2MercuryBJs, Doorly, Wall of Sound’s Mark Jones, Stray Kitten, Andy Carroll and Colin Peters, most of whom have formed part of the Freddie’s Brigade since its beginnings, all lining up to pay homage through tuneage.

As per every Freddie Rocks Ibiza, big, hairy moustaches and/or related Freddie get-up is pretty much essential- you know we love a theme. Fake facial Freddie hair will be available for purchase at the main entrance, money also going to the charity. Last year’s event managed to raise some 4000€ for the cause; lets see if we can’t top that on Sunday 1 September and do dear Freddie proud on his cloud.

Important to note, guests also have the option to grab a table and fill up on the Ibiza Rocks House famous Sunday Roast pre- getting their groove on. Between that and the Poolside Menu, perfect fodder for pre-Freddie-Frivolity.

W.A.R! Ibiza/Mallorca - Opening Parties announced

Last summer W.A.R! introduced an incredible mix of the most influential and exciting names in electronic music to the famous outdoor Rocks stage.  Back for round two, W.A.R! will once again bring together an eclectic mix of electronic acts to showcase a diverse range of Bass and House. Joining the line up are Zane Lowe, Mistajam, Baauer, Ms Dynamite, Shadowchild and Doorly.  

The newly announced acts join an already incredible line up that includes an exclusive W.A.R! residency with Example + DJ Wire plus four Rinse FM events with TNGHT, Katy B, So Solid Crew, Skepta and Oneman.

First up for the W.A.R! Opening Party at the Mallorca Rocks Hotel on Thursday 6th June are Mistajam, Baauer and Ms Dynamite. Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s Mistajam is widely praised for bridging the gap between the mainstream and specialist worlds, - a man on the same mission as W.A.R!  With his 1Xtra show hailed as ‘the key to the underground’ Mistajam will bring the freshest sounds in UK Bass and House music to the open-air, poolside stage at the Rocks Hotel.

Hailing from Philadelphia, DJ and Producer Baauer is in BIG demand right now.  As well as producing remixes for the likes of Nero and The Prodigy, Baauer’s own masterpieces have really made this man stand out.  Criticallly acclaimed single Harlem Shake caused a massive viral explosion resulting in thousands of youtube uploads per day and a subsequent No.1 US single. Now collaborating with hip-hop superproducer Just Blaze on the massive track Higher, the pair has just completed a joint tour. It will be a big night when Baauer hits up the Balearics for his debut at the W.A.R!  Opening Parties in June.

The UK’s very own Ms Dynamite will also take to the stage for this special show, bringing with her fresh material as well as all the huge hits that made her one of the most influential, successful and award winning British solo artists of the last decade. Her Mercury Music Prize was followed by BRIT and MOBO awards and Ms Dynamite was held up as an ambassador for a British riposte to US R&B. Now collaborating with younger stars like Labrinth on well-received singles and with an album lined up for next years, Ms Dynamite is back by popular demand following her electric live sets at W.A.R! last year.

Taking the helm for the W.A.R! Opening Party at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel is master of new music and long-term friend and champion of Ibiza Rocks, Zane Lowe.  Together with his partner in crime Mark Ronson, Zane was a huge driving force behind the launch of W.A.R! last year and is coming back to kick off another sun-soaked, electric summer.   Baauer will also be Ibiza bound for this special show, which includes the return of Rocks very own resident DJ turned global sensation Doorly.

Mistajam, Ms Dynamite and Doorly return to Ibiza on 28th June and will be joined by Shadow Child. Making his debut via the mighty Dirtybird early in 2012, mostly thanks to the EP's lead track String Thing dominating Eats Everything' and Claude Vonstroke's DJ sets the world over. This new alias for one of House music's already known names is on an exciting path, paved with underground bass-led grooves and all the quirks and depth that will fill the floor at W.A.R! this summer.

With a strong focus on supporting big headline acts as well as the freshest up and coming talent, the W.A.R! bill will keep building  - watch this space.
