Bipolar Sunshine announces brand new single Daydreamer

Bipolar Sunshine new single Daydreamer

Bipolar Sunshine announces brand new single Daydreamer

Bipolar Sunshine will kick off 2015 with the release of a new single 'Daydreamer' released on 25th January followed by a UK headline tour in March and April.

Bipolar Sunshine is the Manchester raised alternative pop sound of Adio Marchant. With an eclectic new-age ambient soundscape and melancholy soulful lyrics, he conjures up the romance of escapism, drawing inspiration from life's wonders and imperfections.

He has built an avid following through the release of two EPs and a collection of singles, most recently with 'Deckchairs on the Moon' and 'Future (Part 1)' ft. Goldlink, and with live shows, including support dates with the likes of A$AP Mob, London Grammar, Rudimental and Bastille, along with his own packed out headline shows and festival appearances.

New single 'Daydreamer' incorporates everything Bipolar Sunshine has become so known and so loved for. An atypical pop track, which blends both the despondent and the upbeat with intelligent and unique lyrics and a vast, all-encompassing chorus. The song is a collaboration with SBTRKT and was produced by Fraser T Smith (Adele, Lily Allen, Sam Smith)

Currently finishing work on his debut album, set to be released next summer, Bipolar Sunshine is heading out on his biggest UK headline tour to date in March and April next year. The headline tour will kick off on 26th March in Dublin and will include a show at London's Heaven before a final night hometown show on 17th April at Manchester's The Ritz. Bipolar Sunshine to release new single Deckchairs on the Moon

Bipolar Sunshine has announced his new single ‘Deckchairs on the Moon’, which will be released on 6th July with a double play as Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record in the World' on last night's show.

In keeping with his fresh, idiosyncratic sound and conversational vocals, ‘Deckchairs on the Moon’ is a light-hearted and upbeat track with an incredibly addictive chorus that will almost definitely be sung en masse from the fields of Somerset to the shores of Ibiza this summer. It’s Bipolar Sunshine at his most charismatic.

Bipolar Sunshine is the solo project of Manchester’s Adio Marchant who with every release continues to impress and carve out his own singular path as one of the most exciting new artists to look out for in 2014.  This summer he is set to step things up another gear with his new single and UK festivals performances including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Reading and Leeds. He follows this with a headline tour in September and October including shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Manchester’s Ritz. Full live dates below;

Bipolar Sunshine has been working with Kid Harpoon (Florence And The Machine, Jessie Ware), Fraser T Smith (Adele, Lily Allen) and close producer 21-year-old Jazz Purple to put the finishing touches to his debut record.

Kaiser Chiefs and much more to Rock Ibiza in 2014

Kaiser Chiefs ibiza rocks 2014

Kaiser Chiefs and much more to Rock Ibiza in 2014

Rocks favourites Kaiser Chiefs are set to return to the Balearics this summer for another set of storming gigs under the stars, headlining the famous poolside stage at Mallorca Rocks (02/09) and Ibiza Rocks (03/09).

Ibiza Rocks first booked Kaiser Chiefs way back in 2005 for one of the first ever Ibiza Rocks gigs, when they were on the cusp of stardom before the explosion of their debut album, Employment.

With follow-up shows at Rocks in 2007 and 2012, the Leeds-based quintet are back and ready to hit the island stages once more, fresh off the back of the release of their fifth album, Education, Education, Education and War, which hit the coveted number one spot in the UK charts. Performing at both Mallorca and Ibiza Rocks in September, the shows are set to be the band’s most energetic and best yet with a set list jam-packed with smash hits and new material.

Rocks prides itself on nurturing the musical stars of the future as well as booking a hot line-up of established headline acts, and this year is no exception. New additions to this summer’s support slots includes solo talent Bipolar Sunshine, who will warm up the crowd before Lily Allen’s debut performance on 24th and 25th June, and Welsh indie rockers Catfish and The Bottlemen, who will hit the stage before Jake Bugg’s latest Rocks headline shows on 15th and 16th July.

Canadian singer Kiesza, who is currently riding high in the UK singles chart after hitting the number one spot with her debut single Hideaway, will support Rudimental on 29th and 30th July, plus headliners Bastille will be supported by blues solo performer Rag ‘N’ Bone Man on 5th and 6th August.

Kaiser Chiefs and the new support acts add to an already scorching summer line-up that also includes HAIM, The 1975, Nas, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, Jake Bugg, The Kooks, Bastille, Skrillex, Tinie Tempah, John Newman, Clean Bandit, Lily Allen, Madness, Bombay Bicycle Club, Wolf Alice, Breton, Chloe Howl, Ella Eyre, Dan Croll, and Krept and Konan, with more to come.

In a brand new collaboration with Rock Nights, the official invite-only Ibiza Rocks afterparty will follow every Wednesday at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes – the island’s legendary boutique hotel where Wham!s Club Tropicana video was filmed and Freddie Mercury famously celebrated his 41st birthday.

Held every Wednesday from 4th June to 17th September, Rock Nights at Ibiza Rocks House will see a host of international DJs including Silvia Superstar, Fuck & Destroy, Jeff Automatic and Rock Nights resident Colin Peters hit the decks in both the main room, “Freddie’s”, and the smaller “Chez Fez” music space. Music aside, the Rock Nights parties will also offer guests karaoke sessions in Freddie’s famous ball-filled bathtub, snaps in the customised photobooth, fun in the album sleeve faces corner and a turn on the crazy piano, as well as a browse of the rails in the vintage clothing showrooms and the chance to get inked in Ibiza with the resident tattooist. Guests staying at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes will automatically be on the guest list and other revellers can apply for guest list by contacting Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes.

The Ibiza Rocks brand consistently boasts a bill crammed with the biggest international artists, best breakthrough talent and cutting edge DJs.  Summer 2014 will see the celebration of Ibiza Rocks’ 9th Birthday and Mallorca Rocks’ 4th Birthday during the 16-week season of spectacular outdoor gigs under the stars.  More Rocks headline acts and W.A.R! line-up announcements will follow soon.

MTV will be the exclusive broadcast partner for the second year running. The network will broadcast a number of live performances, exclusive artist interviews and all the highlights from the 16-week long series from the Ibiza Rocks and Mallorca Rocks Hotels this summer. Seven shows will be broadcast in total on MTV Live HD and the network’s flagship channel MTV Music including 5 x 30’ shows from Ibiza Rocks and a 1 x 30’ show from Mallorca Rocks as well as a 1 x 60’ (multi-artist) compilation show incorporating live track selection and exclusive interviews.

Offering a choice of quality accommodation options at exceptional value, Mallorca Rocks every Tuesday from 3rd June to 16th September and Ibiza Rocks every Wednesday from 4th June to 17th September.

Tickets and hotel packages available now at www.ibizarocks.com and www.mallorcarocks.com. Limited earlybird gig tickets available from €25 (plus booking fee).

Blissfields festival unveil 2nd wave of acts for 2014

Blissfields festival 2014

Blissfields festival unveil 2nd wave of acts for 2014

Following the announcement of 2ManyDJs, Hercules and Love Affair, Tune-Yards and many more diverse acts for its 2014 event, the festival is now pleased to unveil its second wave of artists for this July 3rd to 5th in Hampshire. Spector, Bipolar Sunshine, Johnny Flynn, Thumpers, Éclair Fifi, Years And Years, and Laurel, lead the announcement for the award-winning and intimate family-friendly festival for forward-thinking music fans. Also unveiled is the sophomore Blissfields Independent Film Festival, offering the chance for budding film-makers to screen their short movies during the event, as well as info on all areas of Blissfields 2014. Tickets are available now via www.blissfields.co.uk.

Spector make their welcomed return to Blissfields, bringing the Roxy Music-esque sharp pop of debut record Enjoy It While It Lasts – which reached #1 on the Official Record Store Chart on release – back to the main stage, no doubt previewing new material already destined for the climax of indie discos across Britain. They’re joined on the main stage by Bipolar Sunshine, tipped by Fader Magazine as “primed for big things” and cited by The Guardian as “confusing, but in a good way” his music is quickly picking up adulation for incorporating influences as diverse as Arctic Monkeys and Kanye West.

Few solo artists have captured the folk imagination over the past few years as much as Johnny Flynn, making his much anticipated and long overdue first appearance at Blissfields following the release of greatly admired albums A Larum and Been Listening which positioned Flynn at the center of nu-folk alongside contemporaries and sometimes collaborators Marcus Mumford and Laura Marling.

To complete a special Friday night dance takeover line-up of Snakehips and TCTS - KYAN is now confirmed, fresh from touring with London Grammar, joining Kidnap Kid, who’s recently been on the road with Disclosure - crafting a tastemaker bill for summer 2014.

As well as the Fields Of Bliss Spa, which is new for 2014, a new stage has also been launched. Taking its cue from the acoustic stage of 2013, The Larch is the place to be in 2014 for the best merging folk and acoustic acts by day, and by night this venue turns into a lively, late-night dance hall for swingers, flappers and vintage ravers.

In usual Blissfields tradition, this second wave includes some of the most acclaimed artists from a varied spectrum of music including the world of pop, indie, folk - and with the addition of Radio 1 “In New DJ’s We Trust” presenter Éclair Fifi – dance music as well. The festival’s mission to bring a truly eclectic event, without compromise, to an intimate setting is once again at the core of its 2014 ethos.

Also announced now is information on all of Blissfields areas including Electric Dreams Cinema and Independent Film Festival, Angel Gardens Family & Kids Area, The Fields Of Bliss Spa, Amoeba To Zebra area, Blissfields Beer Festival, Craft Area, Sports Day Arena, and much more… making this without doubt the most packed Blissfields festival ever programmed

Bipolar Sunshine new single Where Did The Love Go

Bipolar Sunshine releases new single Where Did The Love Go

Following on from an impressive 2013, Manchester’s Bipolar Sunshine has announced his new single ‘Where Did The Love Go’, which is available to download now.

A modern day love song, ‘Where Did The Love Go’ is trademark Bipolar Sunshine combining heartfelt, candid lyrics with an uplifting melody. The result is a track that begins understatedly modest, yet builds into something overwhelmingly compelling.

Bipolar Sunshine is the solo project of Adio Marchant, who over the past year has beguiled fans and critics with his unique sound. Refusing to be constrained by genres, his two introductory EPs immerse the listener in dense, lush soundscapes, uncompromising subject matter and conversational vocals. The diverse collection of songs is a testament to Adio’s open-minded approach to creativity and includes first single ‘Love More Worry Less’, the soulful, reggae tinged ‘Drowning Butterflies’, upbeat ‘Rivers’ and live favourite ‘Fire’.

Bipolar Sunshine has been working with Kid Harpoon (Rihanna, Jessie Ware) and close producer Jazz Purple to put the finishing touches to his debut record, which will be released in 2014.

2013 saw Bipolar Sunshine play sold-out shows at Electrowerkz and Gorilla in London and Manchester respectively, as well as support slots with Bastille and HAIM. This year he will be supporting Rudimental and Phoenix in February and performing with London Grammar in March for three European dates. Adio will also make his US debut at SXSW in March with shows already confirmed at Hype Hotel and Fadar Fort and follow this with his biggest UK headline tour in March and April. Live At Leeds - 50 More Acts Announced For 2014

Live At Leeds - 50 More Acts Announced For 2014

Live At Leeds - 50 More Acts Announced For 2014

Having announced the first wave of artists for this year’s festival including the likes of chart toppers Clean Bandit, indie legend Albert Hammond Jr and breakthrough band Wolf Alice as well as the special Leeds Town Hall show featuring a reformed ¡Forward Russia!, Live At Leeds Festival now announce a further 50 bands to the 2014 lineup!

The additions to the lineup once again promise to showcase everything from the best in up coming UK songwriting talent to hotly tipped groups from both sides of the pond!

With an emphasis on the up and coming, the festival will see Manchester-based star in the making Bipolar Sunshine bring his sublime, upbeat and original pop to the festival. 2013 saw him collaborate with the likes of Rudimental and FTSE and this is bound to be a year of even further breakthrough for the young musician. Also joining the lineup and in a similar camp of luscious, soulful pop are the hotly tipped recent Kitsuné signees Years and Years, the electro-pop trio’s recent Hype Machine topping single ‘Real’ caused waves and points to what will surely be a successful year. The elegant, fragile sounds of London via Kendal four-piece Woman’s Hour will also be bringing the painful longing of their upcoming Secretly Canadian debut album to the festival and are not to be missed whilst The Bug’s noise loving dancehall and hip-hop influenced electronica is sure to get people moving. Having been longlisted for the prestigious BBC Sound Of 2014 poll, Bristol singer songwriter George Ezra will also be bringing the tender sounds of his single ‘Budapest’ to the fest whilst fellow act to watch out for in 2014, Fat White Family will be peddling their intense brand of sleazy and visceral rock n roll.

Festival attendees with a penchant for the heavier side of things will also certainly have their tastes catered for. The Finnish apocalyptic post-punk quartet Beastmilk favour huge riffs and equal sizeable with a gothic and metallic twinge that is sure to appeal to fans of Savages and Queens Of The Stone Age alike as showcased on last years Kurt Ballou produced full length ‘Climax’. New York’s Big Ups will also be on hand to bring their frantic, abrasive 90s influenced punk to the festival. Echoes of the Jesus Lizard, Fugazi and Quicksand peppered this year’s debut full length ‘Eighteen Hours of Static’ and with a live show even more energetic than their recorded output, they are sure to be a highlight of the weekend.

Blurring the boundary between solo artist and band, Nottingham’s 18 year old Saint Raymond has a knack for layering his distinctly pop sensibilities with gritty, honest lyrics and a wisdom well beyond his years that has seen him gain a level of attention that is sure to grow. With a similar ear for a pop melody but with their feet more solidly in the indie/rock camp, Californians The Neighbourhood last year revealed their debut album ‘I Love You’ to much praise and having recently supported seemingly unstoppable group The 1975 on their sold out tour are sure to make their presence known in the UK this year. Joining these will be Leeds very own The Sunshine Underground who with a new album due will be bringing their fusion of punk, indie and electronic music to the festival!

These names are just the tip of the iceberg and with over 200 of the finest acts performing across over 20 stages, this year’s festival is one of the strongest yet.

Bipolar Sunshine releases the first official remix of Love More Worry Less

After supporting Bastille on their sold out UK tour this month and premiering the debut single from his highly anticipated second EP, BIPOLAR SUNSHINE releases the first official remix of 'Love More Worry Less' by Bristolian DJ/producer Woz. Signed to Black Butter Records, Woz takes the chilled out indie/world music vibe of LMWL, chops it up, re-imagines it and spits it out through a house-beat. Expect this remix to follow you around from now on as there's not doubt it's going to take the original to new and exciting places.

BIPOLAR SUNSHINE starts his first UK headline tour October 26th as well as releasing his second EP 'Drowning Butterflies' on November 11th through The Aesthetic Recordings.

Liam Fray Acoustic Tour announced

Following the announcement of his September acoustic tour last week, Liam Fray has announced two further shows with a Manchester and Glasgow matinee show and venue upgrade in Liverpool to the O2 Academy.  Manchester’s Bipolar Sunshine has been confirmed as support for all dates.

Commencing in Liverpool on 19th September, which has been upgraded from O2 Academy 2 to the O2 Academy, the 8-night tour finishes in Liam’s hometown of Manchester with two shows at The Ritz on 29th September. Tickets went on sale last Friday and further Liverpool tickets and tickets for the Manchester matinee show go on sale this Friday at 9am from Gigs & Tours. Tickets for the Glasgow matinee show go on sale this Saturday at 9am.

Courteeners recently played two sold out hometown shows at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl, which saw them play live to 16,000 people over the two nights. Supports came from Miles Kane, The Strypes and James Skelly & The Intenders amongst others and Liam Fray followed the second night with a sold out acoustic performance at Manchester Academy 2.  The band also just performed a second headline slot on the Radio1 stage at T in the Park to a huge crowd of fans which can be watched here.

Courteeners released new single ‘Van Der Graaff’ last month, the follow-up to ‘Lose Control’ which was the first single from their third top 10 album. ‘ANNA’ followed a two year break since Courteeners last album ‘Falcon’, which charted at #6 and was the follow-up to the bands #4 debut album ‘St. Jude’.  The band recorded and produced ‘ANNA’ in Manchester at 80 Hertz Studios with producer Joe Cross (Hurts).
