Carl Cox and Marco Carola announced as a UK festival exclusive at High Definition Festival

High Definition is ecstatic to have secured Carl Cox and Marco Carola for a UK exclusive B2B performance on July 5th.  Set in the stunning surrounds of Eridge Park in Tunbridge Wells, High Definition has gained an enviable reputation as one of the most progressive electronic music festivals on the planet and this exclusive performance is testament their burgeoning profile in the ever expanding electronic music market.

This exclusive B2B performance is set to be one of the defining moments of the summer festival calendar with both acts performing separately for 2 hours each and then performing an exclusive 1 hour B2B set together.

Carl Cox has been a legend on the dance and rave scene since the late 80’s. After setting up two record labels and numerous club nights his musical tastes have taken the global club scene through hip-hop, disco, acid house and techno. His now legendary twelve-year residency at super club Space in Ibiza plus shows with other house pioneers such as Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling, Digweed and Sasha place him as a true living legend. Known for his energetic, forward-thinking sets and state of the art production, High Definition is ecstatic to welcome Carl as headliner.

Global techno ambassador Marco Carola has been mixing techno for over twenty years and currently stands at the forefront of the global techno scene. Originally from Napoli in southern Italy, Carola has travelled the world as a producer, DJ and label owner, releasing five critically-acclaimed albums in the process. Renowned for his legendary 2006 Fabric mix, which made a significant contribution to the mid-00s minimal trend, his extensive touring schedule has seen him play countless gigs in Ibiza, New York and all over South America. Carola’s high energy sets can often be up to eight hours long, taking audiences on a journey and demonstrating his impressive three deck skills!

Last year High Definition sold out all 15,000 tickets well in advance of the festival and tickets are selling incredibly fast for 2014.  Early booking is advised as the globes very best artists descend on Tunbridge Wells for a day and night of superlative electronic sounds.

Marco Corola. Mark Knight's Toolroom Knights and 40 more acts announced for High Definition festival

High Definition returns better than ever for its fourth year with an incredible line-up in a new stunning location: Eridge Park, in Tunbridge Wells. Having sold out all 15,000 tickets in advance last year, 2014’s attendees can expect a huge line up of electronic music’s finest acts.

On the main stage, previously announced headliner and prevailing house legend Carl Cox will now be joined by international techno connoisseur Marco Carola.

One of the most widely respected DJs in the game, Marco Carola has been mixing techno for over twenty years, and currently stands at the forefront of the global techno scene. High Definition is thrilled to have such a globally respected star to joining proceedings.

High Definition Festival is also proud to introduce the ‘Toolroom Knights Stage’ featuring label founder and Grammy nominee Mark Knight. Over the last seven years, Knight has never left DJ Mag’s Top 100 poll and has notched up performances at some of the world’s most iconic music venues. Joining Mark Knight are the increasingly prolific house duo Prok and Fitch, who having already racked up some impressive achievements on and off dance floors the world over are set to impress Eridge Park with their heavy-duty sound. Also stamping their mark on High Definition will be newcomer Weiss and Amsterdam’s Mike Mago, who has already won support from a wide variety of powerhouse producers including Tensnake and Josh Wink.  But that’s not all- the Toolroom Knights line up is completed by a plethora of fast-rising acts including: Bearcubs, George Andrews, Pete Griffiths, Mark Dickson and Mike Mac plus a B2B set from Luke Jacquin, James Stewart and GW Harrison!

The team behind High Definition have also recently announced their VIP Arena, which is set to play host to some of Ibiza’s finest regulars. Showcasing their progressive dance floor smashers in the VIP arena are the Hoxton Whores alongside the adroit sounds of DJs Deeptrak and Soul Avengerz, not to mention 2 Good Souls, Mike Linnane, Terence Kay, Sam C and Banton. As if that weren’t enough there’s more in the form of the Tech Twins, Mark Hollis & Jamie Watts, Ben Jammin & Harry Ashby, Chris V, Charlie A, Cliff Knowles and Chris Passion.

These recent additions will join (amongst others) The Martinez Brothers, who are gearing up for an amazing six-hour set of latin-infused house and techno, as well as Gorgon City, currently riding high with ‘Ready for Your Love’ and ‘Real’, and Joy Orbison, who will be bringing his sublime bass hybrids to High Definition alongside house and techno greats Dusky, Filsonik, George Fitzgerald and Jon Rundell.

Flying the flag for bass music are Mistajam, recent chart-topper Route 94, dubstep don Artwork b2b with Zinc, Ms Dynamite, the eclectic as-ever Oneman, and Radio 1’s B.Traits plus drum & bass royalty Shy FX.

On the 5th of July, High Definition is set to once again showcase the globe’s very best artists for a day and night of superlative electronic sounds.

MusicMafiauk presents....Fort Lean

It's January 2011. There's two feet of snow on the ground. Just blocks from Brooklyn's largest garbage dump, a group of guys are huddled around a space heater in a wasted apartment above a metal shop. It looks like a place where things go to die. The view out the window reveals a strip club and a poultry slaughterhouse. Even by the standards of a city not known for its aesthetic prowess, it's a hole. It's in this primordial ooze that Fort Lean was born. Five old friends tired of the grind. This is the very beginning, but it feels like the last chance.

Having been holed up in their bunker, writing and rehearsing for the first two months of 2011, they played their early March debut in front of a sold out crowd. "Beach Holiday," "Dreams (Never Come True)," "High Definition," and "Perfect" are the band's first recordings. The results of a weekend recording session, the four songs were released for free through Bandcamp on April 13. Encapsulating both the light and dark, the songs bounce along with a frenetic energy, but the world they reference is often a place of pain and disillusion.

Since unleashing their music on the world they've been featured on top-tier blogs such as Stereogum, RCRB LBL, I Guess I’m Floating, and My Old Kentucky Blog, and have shared the stage with the likes of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Male Bonding, Violens, Fang Island and Shark?.

They've been hard at work recording new material, sharing production duties with Ayad Al-Adhamy of Passion Pit. The band is also affiliated with Greedhead Entertainment - the label, management company, and group of dudes that hang out with each other, helmed by Himanshu Suri of Das Racist (“like Odd Future except older, fatter, and less controversial,” says guitarist Zach Fried). Additionally, the band brings a great deal of outside musical experience to the project. Bassist Jake Aron is a talented producer and audio engineer.

Frequently collaborating with Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, Jake has worked with such bands as Yeasayer, Twin Shadow, CANT, and Jamie Lidell. He also plays as Lidell's touring bassist.

Drummer Sam Ubl is a former writer for popular music website Pitchfork, as well as an array of other major publications. He currently works as an elementary school teacher. The group is rounded out by frontman Keenan Mitchell, synth man/guitarist Will Runge, and guitarist Fried, who is a former touring member of Bear Hands.
