Paris XY to release new single Wytching Hour

Paris XY new single Wytching Hour

Paris XY to release new single Wytching Hour

Wytching Hour will be Paris XY's 7th single release before the debut album in 2015.

Following the disturbed psyche of the everyday man, the narrative indulges in debauched temptations of modern society. Take from it what you want, the ambiguity allows every listener to take their own dark path. Lyrics and music taunt each other, a pulsing bassline matched with the chanting vocal line weaves a hypnotic devilled dance.

"Wytching Hour immediately absorbs you, lures you over to the edge, and gives you a glimpse into the dark recess of Paris XY world. You know something slightly unpleasant is about to unfold, but the music is so seductive, the vocals so enchanting, almost hypnotic, you have to see it through." Backseat Mafia

Paris XY are supported by BBC Introducing, Radio Eins in Germany and Flux FM.
Since 2012 Paris XY have developed their unique sound. Combining vocals and guitar with live analogue synths, drum machines and atmospheric soundscapes. Lyricism is brought to the fore, influenced by Joy Division, Radiohead and Edgar Allan Poe, subjected to Smith’s Blues powerful delivery. Orvis' production is rooted in Scandinavian and eastern European inspiration, predominantly Trentemøller, GusGus and The Knife. At Beacons festival and Galtres, Paris XY supported Daughter, XXYYXX and British Sea Power on the Loud and Quiet stage, as well as playing between Morcheeba and Tricky. 2014 has also seen the duo on tour in Germany and Holland in July, showcasing in Berlin, and following that with the Poland dates supporting GusGus on their world tour; 6 soldout shows and a final date playing Berghain Main Club on September 24th.

March 2015 will see the introduction of their live visual show, premiered at Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds, designed from horror films, medical recordings, Euan Baker's original work and many brief shots of insanity, the show now becomes a whole audio/visual disturbance to your senses.

Paris XY are also launching a crowdfunding campaign in February, in order to finish the debut album off with the support of the PUBLIC. Staying away from corporate sponsorship and label backing, we aim to finish the album as it is supposed to sound, our own untouched music, it is with the help of our fans that we can realise the record we've imagined for the last 3 years.

More acts announced for T in the Park's BBC introducing

With just 5 weeks to go until T in the Park opens its gates to tens of thousands of Thursday campers and the biggest weekend of the summer gets underway, festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager have added yet more hotly tipped, under the radar acts to the 20th year bill. The Recovery!, Roman Nose, The LaFontaines, Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun, PAWS, Baby Strange, Fat Goth, Discopolis, Departures, Saint Max and the Fanatics, Animal Noise, Astroid Boys, Story Books, Propellers, The Adelines, Emily Burns, Model Aeroplanes, Big Beat Bronson, Steel Trees and The Lake Poets will all take to the BBC Introducing stage over the weekend of 12th – 14th July.

Glasgow five-piece The Recovery! fuse noise and attitude to create an energetic, heavy rock ‘n’ roll sound. Bringing some dark electro beats to the festival this year are Roman Nose, who have supported the likes of The Glitch Mob and 2manydjs. Combining Hip-Hop, Rock and Pop into one genre mash-up of brilliant noise, The LaFontaines have just played their biggest sell-out headline show to date at Glasgow’s Classic Grand and have supported the likes of Example and Twin Atlantic, plus their track Under The Storm featured as the soundtrack to T in the Park’s 20th year line-up announcement video.

Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun played a rapturously received set at SXSW and have smashed through two UK headline tours. PAWS’ punchy pop punk tracks took off in 2010, and their infectious sound was showcased on their debut LP Cokefloat! in 2012.

Baby Strange have been the talk of 2013, storming the stage and packing out the venues around their home-town of Glasgow including their appearance at Tenement Trail in March. Dundee’s Fat Goth recently released their second album Stud to a slew of outstanding reviews from the likes of Rock Sound, Kerrang! and Drowned in Sound. Edinburgh electronic four-piece Discopolis made their T in the Park debut on the T Break Stage in 2011, and were hailed by NME as one of the top new bands to watch shortly after. With two EP’s and studio albums under their belt, Glasgow band Departures have developed a fanbase for their melodic hard core rock.

Purveyors of offbeat, catchy pop gems, Saint Max and the Fanatics have won support from luminaries including Steve Lamacq and Vic Galloway since forming a year ago. Essex-based trio Animal Noise create energetic acoustic dance music with fast guitar picking and soulful vocals. Cardiff’s grime collective Astroid Boys impressively entwine hard core beats and impressive rapping with street-wise, captivating lyrics. Story Books released their debut EP Too Much a Hunter in May on Communion, the label co-founded by Ben Lovett from Friday headliners Mumford and Sons.

Propellers infuse their classic indie tracks with a disco-inspired twist, and are set to share the line-up with the likes of Jake Bugg and Tom Odell at The Rolling Stones’ forthcoming Hyde Park gig. The Adelines are a guitar-driven quartet who have captured the attention of fans and industry alike with their jangly reverb-guitars and pop sensibilities. Emily Burns oozes dreamy pop with her acoustic sound and Dundee’s Model Aeroplanes are set to own the stage with their energetic indie rock music.

Big Beat Bronson is Newcastle’s answer to a hip-hop super-group, with stunning musical rhymes and vocals. Steel Trees showcase themselves as ‘punk misfits’ with their loud and proud grunge music. The Lake Poets put on an enchanting show with beautiful songs centered around lead Martin’s acoustic guitar.

Over 85,000 festival-goers per day will descend on Kinross over 12th – 14th July for the 20th year of T in the Park, which will feature performances by some of the hottest acts on the planet, including headliners Mumford and Sons, Rihanna and The Killers, plus The Script, Stereophonics, Beady Eye, Kraftwerk, alt-J, Foals, The Lumineers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, My Bloody Valentine, Two Door Cinema Club, The Courteeners, Frightened Rabbit, Jake Bugg, Of Monsters and Men, Twin Atlantic, Editors, Hurts, Travis, Frank Turner, The View, Noah and the Whale, Ocean Colour Scene, Haim, Imagine Dragons, The Fratellis, Johnny Marr, James Skelly and the Intenders, Villagers, Local Natives, Chvrches, Tribes, FIDLAR, Palma Violets, Kodaline, The 1975, Peace, The Strypes, British Sea Power, The Heavy, Deap Vally, Swim Deep, Trash Talk, Brooke Candy,  The Virginmarys and Josephine, plus many more still to be announced.

MusicMafia presents Dirtybuzz

Back when Dirtybuzz started creating music he didn’t have his own computer, neither direction nor guidance. This was Manchester 2005 and throughout his final high school year began playing at the thought at creating music. He had played classical instruments in the past but that’s another story.

Once he started using hardware for production it took his music to another level. In 2009 to 2010 he was acquiring more hardware and started to take his music more seriously than ever.

In his early production days Dirtybuzz was heavily influenced by hip hop, a side effect that has given his music a unique twist. He uses rhythm as melody and melody as rhythm.

Dirtybuzz is always experimenting and creating new sounds that continue to inspire the people around him. Other producers and vocalists want to work with him; they say no one can get the sound like his, even when he is engineering other musicians’ tracks.

DJ’s and Music labels have been following his development closely waiting for the next best thing to come from his home studio.  He has been approached to be signed multiple times but dismissed the offers as he felt he always could do better musically. He believes every track is improved one way or another over the last.

He composes , arranges, engineers, produces and masters each track by himself.

In December 2012 Dirtybuzz took to the art of DJing. With his past musical roots and strong experimental methods he learnt the basics and had his first paid gig within a week. After a couple of months he was invited to do a 40 minute radio set for a radio station broadcast from Aiya Nappa.  Naturally the 40 minutes of music was all his own.

This brings us to now. After being featured on BBC Introducing he feels ready and confident. He wants the world to hear his sound and join him on his journey.

He currently has a strong following on Facebook, Soundcloud and twitter. According to Soundcloud only around 50% of his views and followers are from the UK.

Dirtybuzz says it’s “Music Made to Make you Move” which embodies the spirit of his production.

Son Of Eagle release their debut album From The Ground

Son Of Eagle release their debut album From The Ground

Son Of Eagle have released their debut album From The Ground to much acclaim. The band's stripped-back music echoes back to the basics of folk - of nature, of dreams, streams and campfires but still has a prominent place in the now. 2011 has been an extraordinary year for the Derbyshire-based musicians, having been featured on BBC Cambridge and BBC Shropshire, as well as receiving much credit through national press, festival appearances, and the blogosphere. They've also played alongside Passenger among others, and have been heavily featured on BBC Introducing.

The band are one that has grown organically, and this both respected, celebrated and embedded in the music that the band make. Time taken and pride in one's work are key to Son Of Eagle's focus, and their beautifully-recorded tracks bore from nights spent in vocalist Ben's spare room are testament to this.

Stunning viola and elegantly sublime vocals are core to Son Of Eagle's songs, comparable to the likes of Bon Iver and Ray Lamontagne. The future looks bright for the quartet and From The Ground is a perfect creative journey from beginning to end. Indeed, 2012 is set to be their best year yet.
