This Saturday features the following bands with one more TBC

THIS DEVESTATED FAN
Sometimes, everything just falls into place and the time is right. For This Devastated Fan, that time is now. With a new and improved line-up, a third studio alum imminent (mooted to be their best yet), and a cult following growing rapidly all over europe, TDF are ready to make the leap from underground scenesters to major rock act.

Formed in 2006, the alternative four-piece hail from the hot bed of music that is the north-west of England. TDF have been a big name on the underground scene since they first started gigging pubs and clubs of the north-west, and recent tours around UK and Europe have further enhanced their reputation as a band destined for big things.

TDF set out to create a unique sound and in doing so they have produced fascinating, grandoise, and often, stunning music. At the heart of what they do is a simple desire to play powerful, maticulously designed melodramatic rock. But TDF intersperse this heavier sound with evocative, sometimes haunting music that strips away the bluster of guitars to leave songs that are fragile, reflective and chilling.

The more poignant, melancholic TDF moments give rise to Placebo comparisons, a sentiment that is intensified by the Brian Molko-esque vocals of Cavanagh. His emotional, heart rending vocal melodies also echo bands such as Brand new or Death Cab for Cutie.

TDF have a songwriter determined to push the boundaries of what the band can achieve and he continually challenges the group to better themselves individually and as a unit. Exciting times surely lie ahead.

DADDYSMILK - LIVE AT SATANS HOLLOW - 24TH JULY 2010

VENUE: Satans Hollow, Princess Street, Manchester
DATE: Sat 24th July
DOORS: 6pm
PRICE: £5 adv tickets / £6 on the door

DADDYSMILK
When you think of Daddysmilk, consider them as equals to MCR and PATD. Hailing from Manchester, UK by way of Norway, the band churns out fantastically cheeky rock with a theatrical sweep. There’s plenty of dissonance and distortion – guitars careen herky jerky to the raucous stomp of drums. Singer Kris Zeigler teases, mocks and croons like a rakish pied piper, beckoning listeners to follow him through his tales and character sketches. Surrender now, and you’ll find yourself doing anything for Daddysmilk’s deliciously melodic rock drama. (But you won’t do that.)"

THE MADDING CROWD

The Madding Crowd are the germination of an idea that was had around March 2009, but haven't really come into fruition until very recently. We are from the Manchester/Oldham area and we strive to make music that stands out from the crowd by being articulate, thought-provoking and aurally different from the current flock. It is our opinion that the world of music has become a stale and sad place, governed by money and careerism (as most things are nowadays), a place in which no one is any longer willing to take risks and make people think about life and it's comings and goings, for fear of seeming unappealing to a record buying public who are largely indifferent to music, and see it as a resource akin in it's limitless capacity to tap water. Of course it is not, and that is why people need to be alerted to music again by a band who dare to be different.

ILLUSION
Illusion are a Manchester based rock band, we are all teenagers who attend a local high school. We formed in 2009 for a school competition and, after realising how well we worked together, decided to continue playing together. Our music is heavily influenced by the wide range of genres we all enjoy; between us we listen to everything from jazz to rock and classical to folk. Despite our young age, the music we make is very polished and we all have lots of musical experience playing a variety of different instruments
