Oasis star Noel Gallagher is to play the ECHO arena

FORMER Oasis star Noel Gallagher is to play the ECHO arena Liverpool in 2012

Due to high demand Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have added an additional seven new dates across the UK, including Liverpool on September 6 2012.

Noel has strong links to the city from early collaborations with the Real People and Digsy to later work with The Coral, Howard Eliott Payne and Sixteen Tonnes.

Noel said: “My manager asked me who the High Flying Birds are. They aren’t anyone in particular. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is me and whoever is around at the time of whatever it is that I’m doing, a loose collective kind of thing.”

Liam Gallagher threatens to 'deck' Peter Kay

Liam Gallagher has continued his feud with comic Peter Kay, who took the mickey out of him at February's Brit Awards. In his latest outburst, Gallagher make a joke of Kay's weight, and threatened to beat him up if the two ever run into each other, after the funnyman labelled him a "knobhead" at the awards ceremony. Gallagher said, "Talking of knob, have you seen yours lately, you fat fucking cunt? Know what I mean? Bet he ain't seen his for years. That is one cunt who'd get decked if I saw him on the street, believe you me." Meanwhile, Gallagher also laid into his brother Noel, saying he would "leather him" if the two bumped into each other. He also compared the guitarist's friendship with comic Russell Brand to that of Neil and Christine Hamilton (Shortlist).

Noel Gallagher: 'I'll never recover from Toronto Oasis gig assault'

Noel Gallagher has delivered a witness statement to a Toronto court saying that he has been told he will "never really recover" from the injuries he received in the city in September 2008.

The guitarist was attacked by crowd member Daniel Sullivan at the V Festival in the Canadian city while performing with Oasis there. He suffered three cracked ribs.

Now according to The Sun, Gallagher's witness statement has been read out in court in the country's capital after Sullivan plead guilty to the charge of assault.

"I would describe the impact and shock as feeling as if I had been hit by a bus," Gallagher's statement read. "I ended up in a heap. I have been told that I will never really recover from the damage, and still feel painful twinges."

The statement continued, "The emotional impact it had was essentially coping with the pressure to perform so as not to let the band down. For a considerable period I was operating at 50 per cent of my capabilities."

Oasis had to cancel a series of gigs because of the injuries. Sullivan is set to be sentenced next month.
