NEW SINGLE RELEASED 7TH NOVEMBER 2011 ON LYF RECORDINGS
WU LYF will release a new single ‘We Bros’ on 7th November. The single is a reworked, updated version of the track that appears on the band’s debut album ‘Go Tell Fire To The Mountain’.  Built around the anthemic chorus chants of  “We bros you lost man  / We bros so long / Put away your guns man / And sing this song”, ‘We Bros’ is the track that WU LYF have been closing their live shows with in front of thousands of people over the summer
‘We Bros’ will be available on heavyweight 12” vinyl and digital download and will come backed with remixes from S. Maharba and Young Montana. The vinyl version will feature three tracks on side A and etched artwork on side B.
WU LYF also recently announced an eight date UK headline tour, including a London show at Shepherds Bush Empire on the 26th October. And, following recent sold out shows in New York and LA, the band will return to the USA in November for a twelve date headline tour.

Live Connection - NEWS for unsigned artists

Live Nation Entertainment (UK) to launch
‘Live Connection’
A unique platform for unsigned UK talent

Thursday 6th October 2011; Live Nation Entertainment (LNE) today announced plans to launch Live Connection, a brand new initiative to support new and unsigned artists in the UK.

Live Connection will hand-pick unsigned artists to record audio and video in a professional environment at monthly live sessions and supply each act with three live and recorded tracks to use for personal promotional use, but most importantly, actively promote to the UK music industry and a network of millions of live music fans.

Live Connection has partnered with the streaming service We7 (3 million users per month), Live Nation UK, Ticketmaster UK and Academy Music Group (AMG) content channels and social media platforms, as well as taking the project into the student market with packaged programmes airing through Sub.TV; accessing some 1.76 million students across Students’ Union venues nationwide.

Live Nation Entertainment is engaging with a steering committee of UK industry-only experts and key decision makers who will receive regular news and updates from Live Connection of new and emerging acts, recorded and edited by Pete Webber of Live Connection, via a new online portal and email subscription service at live-connection.co.uk.

Here, experts can exclusively watch professional videos and listen to high -quality, digitally-mastered audio content prior to Live Connection’s extended distribution through its consumer channels.

“As a sound engineer, I know how hard it can be for new artists to get in-front of the right people, so I approached Paul Latham, Chief Operating Officer at Live Nation Entertainment, to support emerging acts by recording, mixing and mastering their songs as well as filming their performance in a concert venue” says Pete Webber, Live Connection. “With his support and industry presence, we have created Live Connection, a cost-effective model that puts the complete package together for new artists. In addition to reaching out to the UK music industry, we are extending our promotion of these acts to millions of music fans, through Live Nation’s associated networks and media platforms.”

“The exposure Live Connection can give to new artists is outstanding” says Paul Latham, COO of Live Nation Entertainment. “With access to millions of music fans, Live Connection is the perfect exposure model for new and emerging acts. We’re not only showcasing their talent to the right industry contacts, we’re building communities, sharing their recorded music and video through Live Nation’s mailing lists, websites and social networks. We’ll also be pushing these artists towards publishing and distribution deals as well as looking to add live exposure and experience through our venue estate and festival output.”

Live Connection launches on Tuesday 11th October 2011.

Rax - ’11 Till Infinity -Video

Introducing the latest face of original hip hop in the UK - 20 year old London based rapper Rax. This creative up and coming wordsmith is on the verge of establishing himself as one of Britain's most prominent musical stars, with a 6-month plan titled The Black Crook Project kicking into action at Midnight on Sunday, 2nd October. Based around Charles M. Barras' 1866 musical 'The Black Crook', the project will see Rax release 1 new video every 2 weeks for 6 months.

Rax honed his microphone skills from the age of 15, before signing with fast rising musical enterprise Clear Cut Entertainment / Audio Surveillance Records. The charismatic emcee then released his first solo long player titled 'The Auditions' in 2009. The mixtape went on to receive over 1000 downloads within the first few days of its release, with hard copies of the project proving equally as popular on the streets of London. Rax then released several viral videos (including his unforgettable 'I Wanna Rock' remix which clocked up over 30,000 views on YouTube), before putting plans in motion for his most ambitious project to date - #TBCP.

The first video from The Black Crook Project features Rax rhyming effortlessly over Souls Of Mischief’s '93 Till Infinity instrumental - the perfect introduction to what you can expect to see from this undeniably gifted emcee over the coming months. Unlike most freestyles which borrow famous beats for their backdrop, Rax makes the track his own and undoubtedly presents his own take on this classic piece of Hip Hop history. The video sees Rax performing in a variety of locations including the AUSV studio and the streets of Shoreditch, with casual behind the scenes shots incorporated throughout.

Thomas Dolby announces UK tour November 2011
+
First studio album in 20 years
‘A Map Of The Floating City’ (released 24.10.11)

Monday 15th August 2011;Thomas Dolby, electronic legend and ground-breaking synth master, will tour his brand new studio album, ‘A Map Of The Floating City’ this November.

The 11-date tour, starting at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Sunday 6th  November, sees Dolby eagerly back on the road after a number of years away from touring and recording.

Back in the ’80s, Dolby’s smash hits ‘She Blinded Me With Science’ and ‘Hyperactive!’ helped define the MTV generation and some 20 years since his previous full release, he returns with a new studio album, ‘A Map Of The Floating City’’, featuring appearances by special guest artists Mark Knopfler, Regina Spektor, Natalie MacMaster, Bruce Woolley and Imogen Heap, will be available on Monday 24th October 2011.

Thomas Dolby’s impressive recording and production career now stretches a staggering thirty years. He was the producer for seminal rap heroes Whodini, but his commercial breakthrough came with the 1982 release of his very first album, ‘The Golden Age Of Wireless’. Go back a year and Dolby’s innovative synthesiser work was already making its mark – he wrote the mesmeric synth intro to Foreigner’s ‘Waiting for A Girl Like You’.

In 1983, he appeared on Def Leppard’s ‘Pyromania’ album and in 1984 Dolby’s second album, the expansive masterwork, ‘The Flat Earth’, featured Dolby’s biggest single success - ‘Hyperactive!’ - a fine piece of pop-art funk that was originally written for Michael Jackson. After successfully producing Prefab Sprout's revered 'Steve McQueen' album, Dolby would spend the rest of the decade working with George ClintonDavid BowieRoger Waters of Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock..

The five-time Grammy®-nominated British artist quit the music business in the early ’90s and spent many years in Silicon Valley, where his tech company Beatnik Inc. created the ringtone synthesizer embedded in more than three billion mobile phones shipped by Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and others.

Of the new album, which is divided into three parts, Dolby says, “The new songs are organic and very personal. ‘A Map Of The Floating City’ is a travelogue across three imaginary continents: In Amerikana I’m reflecting with affection on the years I spent living in the U.S.A., and my fascination with its roots music. Urbanoia is a dark place, a little unsettling…. I’m not a City person. And in Oceanea I return to my natural home on the windswept coastline.”

“I marvel at the new landscape of the music business - distribution via the Internet and recording technologies I barely dreamed of when I started out,” he continues, “but this album does not sound electronic at all. I have zero desire to add to the myriad of machine-based, synth-driven grooves out there. The Net has made a music career approachable for thousands of bands - but I hear too few single-minded voices among them, so I’m returning to what I do best, which is write songs, tell stories.”

Evanescence announce first UK tour in 4 years

WITH SUPPORT FROM THE PRETTY RECKLESS
AND FAIR TO MIDLAND

STRICTLY EMBARGOED UNTIL 9am TUESDAY 26th JULY 2011

Tuesday 26th July 2011 – Following a three-year sabbatical after the multi-platinum, worldwide success of their sophomore effort, The Open Door, Evanescence went into the studio on April 11th this year to begin recording their third studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz, whose recent producing credits include Foo Fighters, RUSH, Stone Sour, Deftones and Alice in Chains. It is due to be released in the fall on Wind Up/EMI.

Now they are to tour the UK for the first time since 2007 with support from Taylor Momsen’s grunge tinged rock outfit The Pretty Reckless and progressive art-rockers Fair To Midland. Kicking off at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on 4th November, they finish up in Birmingham on the 13th, before heading over to mainland Europe.   Singer Amy Lee commented: “We're dying to come back to the UK and play the new music for our fans. Can't wait!"

With what some call a meteoric rise to the top, the band’s first album, Fallen brought the band to global success with more than 17 million records in the hands of fans worldwide, two Top 10 singles, “My Immortal” and “Bring Me To Life” and two Grammy® Awards in 2003 (Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for “Bring Me To Life”).

The Open Door was certified double platinum in the United States and has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.   The album was defined by Amy Lee’s beautiful melodies, profound lyrics, stunning vocals and poignant piano, merged with Terry Balsamo’s urgent, yet intricate guitar playing and formed a remarkable, ethereal blend perfectly rooted in the band’s rock and classical sensibilities, including the hit single “Call Me When You’re Sober.”

Evanescence is Amy Lee (vocals, piano), Terry Balsamo (guitar) Tim McCord (bass), Troy McLawhorn (guitar) and Will Hunt (drums). For more information, please visit their website.

Shed Seven tour 2011 Maximum Hits and Maximum Highs

Shed Seven have extended their upcoming UK tour adding a Bournemouth and Bristol show to their live schedule. Tickets go on sale Saturday 23rd July at 9am.

Following the huge success of their last two sell-out tours, the band will return to the road to play a selection of their hit singles whilst also celebrating the 15th anniversary of their platinum selling album “A Maximum High” by revisiting several of the tracks from that album.
Lead singer Rick Witter said “It’s fantastic to be getting back on the road again. I can’t believe 15 years have passed since A Maximum High and it will be good to revisit one or two songs that have been untouched for many years. We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve for this tour, we want to be doing something a bit different each time we go out. We’ll also be playing the hits you’d expect to hear, it wouldn’t be a Shed gig without Chasing Rainbows would it?!.”
A Maximum High spawned 4 of the record 5 top 40 singles the band notched up in 1996, which included Going for Gold and Getting Better, and saw the band break into the Britpop big league. The album went top 10 in the UK and the band toured it around the world.
“In those days it was all Top of the Pops, Chris Evans, Richard and Judy and flying around the world. Obviously a lot’s changed in 15 years, personally you’re as likely to find me on the school run as swinging my mic lead on the stage but hopefully we’ve proved that good songs played by a good band, stand the test of time and I still feel the stage is where I’m meant to be. Shed gigs are somewhere people can lose themselves and sing their hearts out for 2 hours. See you at the front…..”
